The Merion Golf Club, host of this week''s US Open, is one of oldest and most esteemed golf establishments in America.
First open as far back as in 1896 in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, it can proudly boast of having staged more USGA Championships than any other in history.
This week''s US Open, the second major of the year following the Masters, will be it''s 18th USGA championship since it''s first, the US Women''s Amateur, in 1904, and its 5th US Open since its first in 1934.
