As usual, I played this B version right after the A one, and found it a tad harder, as some pin placements are really tricky on this famous, yet atypical, course, with small elevation changes, winding creeks and a few narrow greens, hard to reach sometimes. On this short course, holes worth mentioning on the front 9 are the par-5 2nd, with a tee shot flying over a small serpentine creek in front of the tee box (leaving you with a blind and long approach upward to the green), the long par-3 3rd, with a tee shot over a small creek flowing diagonally midway, and the very long (more than 630 yards) par-5 4th, downhill all the way, with an undulated fairway and a small creek running in front of the green, impossible to reach on your second shot. The par-4 5th is another nice hole, with a downhill tee shot flying above a meandering creek, across the fairway and branching out all along on the left side of the green, ending next to the slightly-elevated green (on the left). I also liked the very pretty par-3 9th hole, with a tee shot over a creek running diagonally in front of the green in front (surrounded by five big bunkers). The back 9 starts with two more short holes, the dogleg left par-4 10th, whose green is impossible to reach from the tee box (with trees in the inner corner hiding it), and the gorgeous but very tough par-4 11th, my favorite hole, slightly downhill, with a narrow fairway and another creek running in front and past the narrow green (and branching out around it). Last, but not least, the 16th hole is a very pretty dogleg left par-4, with an uphill tee shot landing onto a winding fairway, and a blind approach over a wide ditch (filled with shrubs and sand), just like the par-3 17th, where you will need to hit a long and blind tee shot over another wide ditch, filled with deep rough, in order to reach the green, before finishing with the straight par-4 18th hole, with a downhill tee shot over deep rough (on both sides of the fairway) before hitting a last uphill approach toward the green. Overall, with its unusual layout, this par 70 offers quite a challenge and you should enjoy this Merion Golf Club 2013, well designed by the CGX team, with its nice roads, homes and small rocks around the banks of the creeks.

As you can see there is a A and B version of this course, both versions are the same, only the flag position on the green is different.
Important note: a lot of CGX courses are only playable from the: PRO tees The cgx designers created courses in high tempo, so they only made the pro tees playable. So in TW08 you have to select the PRO tees.
Another note: Maybe there are versions of these courses already on Coursedownloads by others, most of whom were designers on the CGX Design Team.
