Unlike a few other players, I had no problem whatsoever on this real par 73 course, pretty nice with its wide and undulating tree-lined fairways on the front 9 (and much narrower on the more scenic back 9), beautiful plantings and its pot bunkers, spread around quite a few greens.
On the front 9, my favorite holes are the right dogleg par-4 3rd, with plenty of trees all along on the right side and the nice historic old tower, symbol of the course, behind the green, the beautiful par-3 5th hole, with a blind tee shot over deep rough, slightly downward to the green (with thick trees on the left and deep bunkers in front), and the very long (more than 630 yards) and straight par-5 9th, with three bunkers, splitting the fairway, midway, leaving you with no choice but to hit your second shot, short of the green.
After the short right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with a big bunker in the right corner and some pot bunkers around the green, and the straight par-4 11th, with a narrow fairway parallel to a nice road on the right, you will have to be careful with your tee shot through the narrow tree-lined fairway on the par-3 12th hole, to avoid the deep pot bunkers around its undulating green.
Then, after the short and slightly downhill right dogleg par-4 15th hole, with plenty of trees on the right of the undulating fairway, and a big elongated pot bunker on both sides of the green (with a smaller one in front), the last three holes are quite nice and challenging...
On the par-4 16th, you will need to hit a blind tee shot above thick trees on both sides of the undulating (and hidden) fairway, to later enjoy the nice blue flowers around the green (slightly to the left), before moving on to the nice left dogleg par-4 17th, with a tee shot over deep rough and over more trees (if you want to cut the corner), and finishing with the gorgeous right dogleg par-5 18th hole, with a blind tee shot over gorse bushes landing onto a very narrow fairway, and a long second shot toward the green, with a nice clubhouse and more blue flowers again behind.
Well-designed by TeeOffTowersey, this Woodhall Spa-The Hotchkin course, set in England, is very enjoyable and prettier than the real one (which, on the official site, looks like it was struck by an... earthquake !), and if you can avoid landing into those dreaded pot bunkers, you should finish with a nice score before heading straight to the spa to cool off !

Start TW08 and go to: Options...Graphics...and set it to manual settings
Now below you can lower the settings manually
Lower especially this 3 settings:
Tree detail distance
High detail trees
Tree texture detail

I can play only one hole in shootout, then all goes to hell.

jackn, your problem with the crashing is probably down to the number of trees that were planted. I tried to replicate the course as accurately as possible which included the dense woodland the course is located in. I was probably too zealous with the planting. Consequently some rigs may struggle with the setting being applied in the game. Glad to hear you didn't land in any bunkers. Hole 12 bunker is a real beast.

Sorry BrucMan to hear it crashed in TEXMOD. I don't use that program within TW08 so I cannot advise on the problem you had with it other than perhaps the settings or system requirements may be an issue.
