Another gorgeous course from Bgravolicious, with breathtaking and natural-looking views, undulating and/or slanted fairways, plenty of elevations, a few ditches with small rocks in some of them, sparse trees, deep and medium rough, a few gorse bushes, not to mention some small and well-placed bunkers, thankfully “compensated” by wide greens !
Right off the bat, you will start with the long (about 620 yards) right dogleg par-5 1st hole, with a downhill tee shot next to a serpentine ditch, slightly to the right, followed by another downhill shot, short of the green set on a high rocky platea that you will reach on your blind approach shot.
The par-4 2nd hole is very nice too with a downhill panoramic view from the tee box, a couple of pot bunkers in the middle of the fairway and an elevated green, slightly to the right, just like the left dogleg par-4 3rd, with a downhill tee shot and an elevated green.
After the par-4 4th hole, with an undulating fairway downhill all the way to the green, you will reach two of my favorite holes : the par-3 5th, quite scenic with its few trees along the high hill leading to the green, and the gorgeous par-4 6th hole, with fences on the left of the tee box, and a downhill shot over a rocky plateau and a steep uphill approach shot to the green, set on another rocky plateau, with more... high rocks around it !
If the par-4 7th hole is straight and quite short (about 350 yards) with a steep downhill (and blind) tee shot and a big bunker in front of the green, this is not the case with the beautiful right dogleg par-5 8th, with a downhill tee shot and a very steep uphill (and long) approach shot to the very wide green.
You will finish the front 9 with a nice panoramic view from the tee box on the “easy” straight par-3 9th hole, with the mountains in front and a steep downhill tee shot.
The back 9 starts with another nice panoramic view on the right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with a heavily-slanted fairway and an elevated green with beautiful mountains as a backdrop, and continues with the left dogleg par-4 11th, with a steep downhill tee shot, gorse bushes around the fairway and another elevated and wide green.
The next 4-hole stretch is superb and quite challenging : on the right dogleg par-4 12th hole, you will hit a downhill tee shot along a small cliff on the left side with another elevated green after, whereas on the straight par-4 13th (about 390 yards), unbelievably you might be able to reach the green with your very steep downhill (and blind) tee shot... even though it will leave you with a 40-yard (or so) putt !
The par-3 14th hole, maybe my favorite, looks awesome, with its green at the bottom of a high rock formation, but set above two rocky plateaus, and is followed by the par-4 15th, with a downhill tee shot over another rocky plateau and a blind (and steep) approach shot to reach the elevated green.
Then, after the easy par-3 16th hole, with its nice downhill panoramic view to the green, you will finish your round with two par-5 holes, the right dogleg 17th, with an open view of the fairway, but with a few small bunkers and trees, midway through, and a blind third shot to the green, and the long 18th hole, with a “clean-as-a-whistle” fairway but with a very long uphill approach shot to the green.
With its constant changes in elevation, this par 72 is a pure delight to watch and play, but if you want to score well, you will have to choose the right clubs to reach the steeply-elevated greens in order to fully appreciate this magnificent and challenging course, beautifully designed, once again, by BGravolicious !

A reminder that Bgravolicious is a master of elevation and making it natural looking. You want a fantasy course that tests your skills, makes you think, and plays like a real course? It's another of my favorite courses, check it out

Quite a few top-notch designers have given genuine praise & admiration here. You can't do better than that (I mean you, McCord), although I do agree with cello re similar textures on the map - but you could say that makes it an even greater challenge!

During my round I was planning a long Floyd response, but now I see Wizards has already beaten me to it, so I'll just say wtg BGravolicious - Shine On You Crazy Diamond...

Nice elevations , & i can see there was alot of landscaping here to create this course , I did enjoy my round. But the only drawback was that the textures especialy on the maps were so simalar it was impossable to tell fairway rough or green apart .. also several ppl i played with , tho not myself, had maps blacking out for them, This was a large course ie 10.43Mb too big for some ppl's PC to coupe with so the maps crash.

Geez wizards ! Any more Floyd references, and you won't have any room to comment about the course... Put the peace-pipe down and quote a better band :D Ding-Dong, the Division Bell Tolls ..

Ummagumma! she's an Atom Heart Mother, beware for she conceals a Saucerful Of Secrets which will set your Pulse a racing and when the Piper plays at the Gates of Dawn she'll be begging you to come back for More!

Has the look of being ploted in Custer state park or around the black hills with the rock work and openess of the land.
I hope it finds A spot on the clams tour this year, Just add wind and look out

Thanks BG, Rick *****

What a fun course!! I only know of a very few designers that could hammer out a plot like this one and make it look so smooth and playable!!! Top notch work! Believe me, this course was not easy to build.. Thanks BG.

Superb! Reminds me of Jolly Rogers a little, but a lot more sophisticated. Nice work. 5 stars.

This designer is extreemly talented and he has all the right tools make no mistake, He is however, IMHO the 'Freddie Kruger of Fantasy Courses'. His work like a 'Salvatore Dali masterpiece', leaves you wondering just where the designers head might have been as the first brush strokes touched the canvass. Some of the shots I was forced to play on this course would have made a lesser gamer take up goat herding or fight the urge to swimn with White Sharks.. I distinctly remember saying things like....'What the...!!! You Gotta be freakin kiddin me....hey....where the blazes did THAT ball go...A 117 yard put....up hill...cool. I think I cried on two holes and I said a few other things I wasnt very proud of on two others. In truth I have to admit Im not a big fan of Fantasy courses, but I believe I know talent when I see it. On a personal level I would love to see what you might do with a real course design. This site needs more real couses. Gave you 4**** for ingenuity and artistic design. I dont know what the French judge gave you....lol

I usually love your designs, but afraid I can't say the same about this one...way too hard imo, just not my cup of tee...sorry...looks really good but way to tough for me

Excellent layout.
The elevations and slopes keep you thinking. Just not let it rip.
Some very serious hang time off some tee box's.
Very enjoyable walk.

cannot remember which hole but I found myself in one of the smallest bunkers on the course! (group of 3 in middle of fairway, how did I find it!)

This is a good course and I enjoyed it but I think this is the hardest course i have played. for knowing where you are on it, so difficult to pick a spot in the fairway off the tee really got to keep thinking all along the course hard greens and elevations make approach shots a real challenge, but very playable if you keep thinking.
