Played a lot of golf in Hawaii, Oahu, thank God (not me, the real one...) I never had to play a course like this! I hope Sandsaver is still active enough to see this and understand that he created an epic course (kudos to the real course, of course...) and I thank him for it. Just fantastic. Thanks.

Awesome design and Moly, this is indeed a brutal course! You'll want to avoid the rough at all costs, particularly as so many holes require carries over land you just do not want to explore. Not to mention the incessant elevation changes and sloping (up/down/sideways) fairways. I played backwards on more than one occasion to save bogey or worse. It really is tough.. and fascinating! The best holes for birdies, I found, were on the back 9 - the 11th is the easiest of the par 5's - and the par 4 16th, where a good tee shot wins most of the battle. I played in dry/breezy but I think there would be pros and cons no matter what the conditions - it's just that kind of beast. It's a really terrific design, I had a thrilling time playing it and will again many times. Cheers!

Welcome to heaven... or to hell ! SandSaver has designed an incredible course through the jungle in Hawaii and you better hit precise shots if you don't want to get into big trouble. In novice mode, with difficult pin placements, I finished with a card of 73, one over par, after hitting 10 shots on the par-4 10th hole and... 13 on the par-5 15th ! Despite this awful score, I loved this stunning course from the 1st to the 18th tee included. The landscape, the lush vegetation - too little (!) according to the designer, too much for some players, the incredible elevation, even the beautiful texture and color of the... highway, make this course a masterpiece ! SandSaver simply deserves a standing ovation while we should just... sit there and admire the gorgeous views...

To Phillip and JJ - If you Google the course and look at the pictures, you will see that I actually UNDERPLANTED. The amount of jungle is incredible. My object count was over 10,000 and there are still areas that could have more plantings. The tree areas on the real course are not OB, but anywhere in the jungle (which is anywhere off the fairway in most cases LOL) is considered a hazard with a one stroke penalty and a drop out. I considered trying to put in an "unplayable" texture in all those areas, but it would have required a lot of very careful work - if I went to far outside the jungle lines, playable shots would be penalized and people would complain. So I made an "executive decision" and just put hazard texture in all the ravines that you have to carry on the course. I do apologize to some people who were penalized but I am damned if I do - damned if I don't.
To all of you who like the course, thanks very much - I really appreciate the feedback.

I hate to ever criticize a fellow designer and especially a friend, but the tree areas Philip mentioned could have been made oob as they are on the real course .....visually a nice course as you stand on each tee :) Looks attractive to me :)

Phillip, remember that this is a recreation, and from what I've seen a fairly accurate one. The elevation work is just amazing. I don't like so many trees myself, but if there on the real course, then I guess I should blame the designer of the real course. How unthoughtful of him to infringe on our playing styles by puts all of those trees on his course. All in all the recreation is a definite keeper.

I found the course to be visually nice but it has about 5000 to many shrubs and bushes just off some of the fairways. a bad shot should not cost you 10 shots to get out of these bushes as this game doesnt always allow you to take an un playable lie. This is one of those cases where a lot less would say a lot more.

The scenery on this course is excellent and a very tough challenge too (hole 5 caught me out completely!). Thoroughly enjoyed playing it, would have rated it very highly had the facility been there. Great work.

I loved this course, Like Davy said, I felt like I was playing Kapalua. The planting was great, and ran smooth. Excellent Work.

I was honoured to be asked to test this course a little. To test I set Gusty very dry heavy easy.
I found this course to be possibly as good a layout as Kapalua and my all time favourite Princeville. Lots of elevation, lots of side-hills and plenty of blind shots and split fairways. A real challenge. The greens are also tough but very smooth, in that there are no sudden jerky turns, so completely "fair". I also found it to be made to a very high standard - very nice work Mike. I love this sort of course for my "risk/reward" style of playing. It bit me though as I often find that I will stubbornly take on a shot when a lay up is the obvious way to go. The course became an all time favourite after only one round!

This courses is one of the most testing. Shot placement is A big key with lots of O.B. to watchout for and add some wind and you have your work cut out for you. Real great plotting work with your green thumb and lots of highs and lows. Thank you Sand man.
P.S. I will be bringing lots of replay ball don't want to lose the good ones. LOL
