A quick update (from my previous comments, written three years ago) to confirm that playing, this time, with TW08 is simply stunning visually and another testimony of rslay's incredible talent, even when designing real courses... Despite its gorgeous scenery and abundant vegetation, this Mauna Kea Hawaii GC 2010 played very smoothly and I no longer encountered a flickering black horizon, like I did with the TW07 version. So, if you want to fully enjoy this magnificent course and its panorama, make sure to follow rlslay's advice for settings, and don't forget to bring your camera to shoot all those postcard holes, such as that scary but superb par-3 11th !

Here is another course that you should never play on... but simply enjoy a stroll ! Every single hole is spectacular : lush vegetation to look at, beautiful flowers, trees, sharp doglegs, bunkers, deep rough. Rlslay did an incredible job recreating this course as you will see after playing it and reading all the comments below. If I had to pick some favorite holes, I would go for the 1st, 3rd (gorgeous) and 10th (with the waterfall in the background on the right). I like the front 9 better than the back 9 but on this course, no matter where you are, you will have opportunities for birdies... once in a while. This course is so stunning that my graphics card (playing with TW07) might have played a few tricks on me as I got a flickering black horizon line a couple of times but, other than that, it is a masterpiece !!!

Having the perfect birthday morning (it's 10:50am August 5 down here in Oz). Just played my all-time fave course while breakfasting on a coupla bacon & egg muffins (step aside Maccas, I make 'em better!) along with a huge mug of tea (I'm originally from England). The "shader" level fixed the black box problem (under "options" in "graphics" sub-menu of game). I manually bumped down the shader level from high to low. This must be a demanding course then compared to the others in terms of graphics utilization. Thanks for your help. I'll try to get you more info on those course on Lake Como in Italy as well later in the month.

Hi,
I'm getting black boxes in front of the pink flower bushes. Once part of the course is in close-up focus, the black boxes then disappear and the flower bushes look normal. I ahve tried my video card at various settings, but I still get the black boxes. All the other courses I've tried work fine in terms of graphics constraints. Any ideas on how to make the black boxes disappear?

I love this course. It's so beautiful and very playable. One of my absolute favorites. I especially like the face on the mountain, looking like an Easter Island Moai - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moai
Of course living there would be The Balls. People I play this with I'm sure tire of my repetitive "you can see my tent from the 8th". I say that at Sherwood too. All I could afford, if that.

Beautiful rendition of a beautiful course. Looks and plays like a dream. My only very minor complaint is that the fairway-side rough is too close in color to the fairway grass, so it makes it very hard to find a safe landing area from the overhead view. It is a masterpiece, though.

After playing this course I could not wait to come to this forum to sing its praises, only to find 30+ people had beaten me too it!!
Words like awesome, stunning and fantastic slip of the tongue far far to easily these days in my opinion to describe what is just above the mundane in many instances.
In this case however, these words dont seem descriptive enough to this amazing work of art.
I shall never go to Hawaii but i now feel I have been there!
Thank you so much sir.

One of the finest custom courses ever done. This is the benchmark in creating a course. I have only one observation and it is miniscule in comparison to the rest. Looking down the 18th, the view of the ocean seems a little off. Since this is the only hole that it is noticeable, it's hardly worth mentioning. The darker foreground and lighter background of the ocean goes against the normal lighting of such a view. However, the entire rest of the course is flawless... Great Job!!!!

Great course. Proves it doesnt have to be long or rediculously sloped greens to be tough.
I realize that cart paths would have been tough to do, but lack of them does take away from the realism. IMO a little too much tall grass. Great pano and planting.
Loved it...Bill
