A delightful course, very pretty to look at, with its city skyline and lakes, nice plantings (trees, flowers, bushes) and subtle elevation changes, and with some challenging approaches to the greens, especially on the back 9.
After two straight par-4 holes to start with, with a tee shot over a colorful flowerbed in front of the tee box and a slightly-uphill green on the 1st, and a beautiful skyline view on the par-3 2nd, with a tee shot over plenty of bushes to reach the green, you will face your first dogleg hole, the par-5 3rd, bending to the left, with a nice view of the skyline as you get ready to tee off and a blind second shot downward to the green.
Water comes into play on the beautiful dogleg left par-4 4th hole, with a tee shot over a big pond and a risky approach toward the green (with another big pond on the left), and also on the straight par-4 5th, with a tee shot flying between two small lakes and with an elongated pond not too far from the green to watch for (on the left).
Then after three relatively “easy” holes (the slightly-downhill par-4 6th, the straight par-3 7th and the dogleg right par-4 8th, uphill all the way), the scenery changes drastically with some wide open views, starting with the gorgeous dogleg left par-4 9th, with a blind and downhill tee shot flying along a small rocky wall (on the left) offering a beautiful panoramic view of the bay, and an uphill approach to the slightly-elevated green.
Another beautiful downhill panoramic view awaits you as you tee off from the straight par-4 10th hole, with the skyline in the background, palm trees on the right side and a huge lake all along on the left side of the undulated fairway, before walking over to the Mines Resort’s signature hole, the dogleg left par-5 11th, with the skyline facing the tee box and a fairway hugging a big lake (on the left) and along a small hilltop (on the right), and a green, set on the edge of the water.
After the par-4 12th hole, slightly uphill, with a slanted fairway and a green, slightly to the left, you will move on to the straight par-4 13th, with a small mound on the left side, not far from the tee box, “forcing” you to hit a blind shot over it, followed by a nice approach toward the green, framed by two lakes.
The next three holes will definitely test your skills as you will be shaking all over, starting with the par-3 14th hole, with a tee shot flying over an elongated lake, in front of the green, and followed by the short (around 310 yards) par-4 15th, very scenic with the skyline facing the tee box, but very tricky too, with a tee shot over a wide lake, and a few bunkers, in front and around the green (reachable with your driver), and ending with the pretty par-3 16th, with a tee shot flying across a huge lake, and a green, set on its edge (with Mines written on a grassy slope on the left).
You will finish your round with two similar inland holes, with the nice and short dogleg right par-5 17th hole, with a blind and uphill tee shot over trees lined up on the right (on a slope below), and a downhill approach to the green, and the dogleg right par-4 18th, but with taller trees (on a slope below) to hit your tee shot over.
With its beautiful panoramic views, this CGX Mines Resort 2012 course is very enjoyable and, at the same time, quite challenging with quite a few risk/reward holes. So, with this... mine of information, if you are patient enough, you should be able to finish with a decent scorecard and head for the clubhouse in time to make... mine a double !

As you can see there is a A and B version of this course, both versions are the same, only the flag position on the green is different.

Important note: a lot of CGX courses are only playable from the: PRO tees
The cgx designers created courses in high tempo, so they only made the pro tees playable.
So in TW08 you have to select the PRO tees.

Another note: Maybe there are versions of these courses already on Coursedownloads by others, most of whom were designers on the CGX Design Team.
