Just a mile down the road from my home in Haslingden lies the most beautiful hidden hamlet of Irwell Vale. You can arrive there from Bury or Rawtenstall on the East Lancashire Steam Railway.
This idyllic place is where the River Ogden converges with the River Irwell after first powering a Mill. If you're still you can watch the kingfisher and heron fly through the middle of the river.
Sadly i couldn't replicate the railway, so the line is disused in my model, but not a hazard so beware. you need to be risky and imaginative to post good scores here, as you often play across this and the rivers.
It is possible to hit the 1st green in one, but you'll never believe me and you might need certain conditions. since it's such a brutal hole, you'll get a second go as it is also the 18th (mainly as i ran out of space, oops).
Even if you play abysmally, you'll certainly enjoy the vista. |
