Saratoga National was listed on the 2005 "100 Best Public Courses in America" by Golf Digest Magazine and
named 2005 "Golf Course of the Year" but the National Golf Course Owners Association. Saratoga National was
also ranked "#5 Best New Upscale Public Golf Course in America" by Golf Digest in 2001 and "#35 Best Courses
For Women To Play in 2003 and 2004" by Golf For Women Magazine and #2 Best Public Access Golf Course in
New York State for 2004 by Golfweek Magazine.
When its course, designed by Roger Rulewich, opened on the site of a former horse farm in June 2001, it was
recognized as one of the "Best New Courses in America." Rulewich laid out the course with several distinct
landscape features, including areas of natural pines, wetlands, streams, and ponds. The landscape is enjoyed not only
by golfers but also by visitors who can stroll the memorable nature trails winding through the property.
This course was designed with the help of Terrain Assist and images from Google Earth. This is not an exact
reproduction but it is my best effort to date and I believe a fine course to play. For a real challenge play on very dry.
It may seem a little unfair in spots but it will make you think about your approach shot because a misplaced
approach could lead to a big number while a smart played approach may yield a birdie but a par is a good score.
I would like to thank all the great designers and people at TWC for the efforts they have put in this year because
without their efforts this course and all the great custom courses we love to play would not be possible.
