Camus Golf Club is named after the legendary Viking leader Camus, who was killed in the Battle of Barry when the Vikings met the Scots Army.
The battle was reputedly fought on the land that Carnoustie was later built on. Camus and the remnants of his army tried to escape when the battle was lost but they were pursued and killed in the hills surrounding the area.
The Camus cross was raised to commemorate him and now he has a fictional Golf course to his name as well as a street in Carnoustie.
Many Thanks to Quietly for his fabulous signs and tea shop, Holein1 and Ray Lloyd for testing, and Pat for yet again sorting out my graphics and all the other things I've forgotten. If you pay attention to the signs you may see them mentioned.
You might also spot Farmer Quietly tending to his sheep if you look right on the 11th tee.
