Another enjoyable and scenic course from Micko, with nice snow-capped mountains far away, and not as easy as it looks, despite some (mostly) wide-open fairways, with quite a few tricky greens hard to read with some undulations near the cups. On the front 9, I like the right dogleg par-5 2nd hole, with a slightly-downhill tee shot and a long and blind approach to the green (with a big pond on the left side and bunkers on the right), and the left dogleg par-4 3rd, with a downhill tee shot and a blind and uphill approach... downward to the green. Then, after a nice panoramic and uphill approach to the green on the right dogleg par-4 4th hole, you will face another nice hole, the par-3 5th, where you will need to hit your tee shot over a little elongated pond in the middle of the fairway, not far from the green (with a few rocks and reeds in it), in order to admire some houses on the hilltop and the mountains further back. The right dogleg par-4 6th hole is very interesting too as you will see... speed bumps on the road (on the left side of the fairway, past the corner, with a small residential area further down) as you get ready to hit your second shot toward the elevated green, just like on the nice par-3 7th, with an uphill tee shot toward the green, partially hidden by trees on the right and guarded by three big bunkers. You will then face the pretty par-5 8th hole, with a rollercoaster fairway and a blind and uphill approach to the green (with a couple of tall trees in the middle on the way), surrounded halfway by water (with a small bridge on the right), before moving on to the scenic par-4 9th, where you need to hit your tee shot over the wide lake (on the left) in order to have an eagle opportunity, before admiring the nice clubhouse (with a parking lot and tennis courts) on the right. The back 9 starts with the left dogleg par-4 10th hole, uphill all the way with a view of the lake on the left as you reach the green, and continues later on with another left dogleg, the par-4 12th, with a downhill tee shot landing onto a narrow fairway (beyond a big bunker on the left midway) and an uphill approach to the green, with a small mound in front. The right dogleg par-5 13th hole is pretty, with a tee shot over an elongated lake (on the right) ending across the fairway midway (with reeds in it), and a long and slightly-uphill approach to the green, whereas on the left dogleg par-4 15th, your tee shot will have to land between a little mound filled with deep rough and trees (in the left corner) and an elongated bunker (on the right) before you can hit your approach to the elevated and undulating green, with a little... downhill slope as you get close to it. The last three-hole finishing stretch is nice : the par-4 16th is a right dogleg with a wide lake (with more reeds in it) behind the green, the par-3 17th hole is quite picturesque, with a lake on the right side and a big elongated bunker to the right of the green, and the right dogleg par-5 18th hugs the lake on the right with three strategically-placed bunkers in the middle of the slanted fairway, and a long second shot toward the green, where you should have one last eagle or birdie opportunity, just like on the 9th hole. With this Beartooth Lake, Micko came up, once again, with a very interesting layout, and it was fun discovering it first and that's the... bare truth !
