Now it's my turn to thank you Bob for your kind comments and for your tip on Skamania's 10th hole but, unfortunately, I was not able to follow your advice as my tee shots kept landing in front of those tall trees on the left, even after flying over the ones on the right ! (And I am not even talking about all those times when I ended up out-of-bounds...).
I guess I will have to check in at the Skamania lodge for a few days to keep practicing... if I can get a good deal from you (ha, ha !).

Thank you Holein1 for such a glowing review. It is always entertaining reading your course reviews. We all very much appreciate the commentary! I can not help but give away a secret. On the 10th hole, if you shape your tee shot with a cut, you can make the upper landing area and have a 150-170 yard second to score your eagle. Dang, I should not give this stuff away, haha.

Wow ! What a gorgeous course…
After years of hiatus, Bob Hiker came back with a bang on the designing circuit with this magnificent fantasy course, already one of my favorites as it looks so... real, with its beautiful mountain panorama, gorgeous tree-lined and (often) undulating fairways (with quite a few elevation changes), its water hazards and its challenging shots, not to mention its postcard look !
If the first three holes are not too difficult, they are quite pretty, starting with the opening par-4 where you will have time to gaze at the geese flying above your head as you get ready to tee off along the tree-lined fairway, and continuing with the par-4 2nd hole, where you will need to hit a steeply-downhill tee shot to admire the panoramic view of the mountains before moving on to the par-3 3rd, quite scenic too.
The par-4 4th hole is pretty straight but is downhill all the way with a nice little creek running on the right side and stopping halfway (with a couple of nice fences further down on the right), unlike the short (about 320 yards) right dogleg par-4 5th, quite tricky with its sloped green, hard to reach with a lone tree in the middle of the fairway (past the corner), and the cute and very short (around 110 yards) downhill par-3 6th hole, with a small pond to watch for on the right side.
The left dogleg par-5 7th hole is another beauty with a downhill tee shot over a small pond across (near the tee box) landing onto a tree-lined undulating fairway, leaving you with a long second shot uphill toward the green, just like the par-3 8th, with a clear panoramic view of the uphill green, with the mountains as a backdrop.
As for the dogleg par-4 9th hole, sharply to the right and slightly-uphill all the way, you will have to clear the trees with your tee shot, while staying on the right, to have a chance for a birdie opportunity.
The back 9 starts with the very tough and uphill par-5 10th hole, with a tree-lined fairway winding its way to the right, then to the left, leaving you with no choice but to play your second shot safely to the right as the green is impossible to reach with trees hiding it in the corner, and with a big pond in front on the left.
If the par-4 11th hole is easier, it is nice too, with a tee shot landing down onto a very narrow fairway, followed by an uphill approach to the green, I prefer the more scenic and downhill par-4 12th, with a big lake (surrounded by trees and with pretty reeds in it) on the right side of the green.
The following left dogleg par-5 13th hole is no pushover either, with its undulating fairway and its elevated green (with a big pond behind), hard to reach on your second shot, whereas the par-4 14th is gorgeous with its steeply-downhill tree-lined fairway and its “cute” stream running halfway around the green, with a big lake behind.
The par-3 15th is another postcard hole with a tee shot flying over a wide lake and... 10 geese swimming across, and is followed by the 16th, another par-3 hole, quite scenic too with a tee shot flying twice over a small serpentine stream, offering a panoramic view of the mountains as you reach the green.
Then, after the easier right dogleg par-4 17th hole, you will finish with the long (more than 600 yards) right dogleg par-5 18th, with a steeply-downhill tee shot landing onto a tree-lined fairway and a green hard to reach on your second shot.
Overall, if I did not get to see Big Foot applauding behind the 18th green, Bob Hiker definitely stamped his "big foot" on the designing scene again with this superb course, that you should hurry to download !

Welcome back Hiker Bob and well worth the wait , a really appealing and very pretty course, plays well on advanced with plenty of wind, there are a few clever shape shots required but all are playable and great fun. Many thanks for sharing and once again good to see you back , hope this is the first of many more.
