very nicely done , a great test on advanced with plenty of wind and no doubt its history suggests in real life it is a little on the mean side lol, many thanks to all concerned for sharing yet more great CGX courses .

This par 70 is well designed but is not visually exciting, nor too challenging despite plenty of elevated greens, with some well-placed bunkers in front. On the front 9, I like the par-3 3rd hole, with its elevated green surrounded by bunkers, the par-5 5th, with a second shot over a meandering stream running across the fairway (and with a nice and small stone bridge on the left), and the other par-3, the 9th hole, again with an elevated green, surrounded by bunkers and with the nice and wide clubhouse, behind on the right. The back 9 is a little bit “tougher”, starting with the right dogleg par-5 12th hole, with a downhill tee shot and a blind and very long second shot over trees to reach the elevated green, with two wide bunkers in front, and the par-3 13th, with another elevated green, surrounded by bunkers. But the best holes are the last ones : the par-4 15th is a left dogleg, with plenty of trees in the left corner and two bunkers in the middle of the fairway midway, with more bunkers in front of the elevated green, and is followed by the right dogleg par-4 16th, with a slightly downhill tee shot and a nice approach over a small lake. Then, after the par-3 17th hole where you will have to adjust your tee shot to reach the elevated green (because of a couple of trees in front of the tee box), you will finish your round with the right dogleg par-4 18th, with a downhill tee shot and an uphill approach to the green. Even though this Oakland Hills CC course plays smoothly, it is not one of the best designed by the CGX team but we should still thank them for making it available for all of us to discover..
