If this course has some nice textures and beautiful plantings, it is not the most entertaining one you will ever play, as it is rather "easy" (despite a few water hazards) with plenty of wide and (often straight) fairways, smooth greens, and a back 9, a little more scenic and challenging, with more holes near the ocean. The front 9 has a lot of holes near a dead-end road in front of some tall buildings, as you will find out on the left dogleg par-4 1st, with its wide tree-lined fairway, and the par-4 2nd, with thick trees on the right side of the fairway, hiding a few villas behind. Other holes worth mentioning are the straight and short (around 300 yards) par-4 3rd, with a small elongated pond on the right of the green, and a bunker on the left, and the par-3 6th hole (despite some fans standing right behind Tiger near the tee box!), with those high buildings on the right and the mountains in front. The scenery then becomes nicer with the par-4 7th hole facing the ocean, with a slightly-uphill approach shot to the green (slightly to the left), and with a little creek/pond on the right to watch for, and the straight par-4 8th, with a tee shot over part of that small creek/pond and a fairway hugging the beach on the right. The back 9 is more interesting with the scenic and straight par-3 11th hole, along the beach on the right, with small fences on both sides of the tee box, a few palm trees on the left, and a tee shot over some deep rough to reach the green, and the nice par-5 12th, with an undulating fairway, quite narrow halfway (with plenty of trees and deep rough on both sides), but wider after, and an easier approach to the green with those buildings and the mountains behind. I also like the cute par-3 13th hole, quite narrow with a tee shot over some deep rough, midway, and its round green, the par-5 14th, with a slightly-uphill tee shot over more deep rough and a blind second shot downward to the green, with the ocean behind, and the par-4 16th hole, slightly-uphill all the way, with a blind tee shot over some deep rough and wide trees and another blind shot toward the green. Then, as you reach the 18th green, you will enjoy a very nice view with some tennis courts on the right, a swimming pool (partially hidden on the left, surrounded by hotel rooms and the ocean, not far away... But, compared to some other CGX courses, this par 70 is not up to... par, but this has nothing to do with the designing team who simply tried to reproduce the real course !
