Lovely course, great setting, played fair in the wind, enjoyed 17 holes...had an issue with a par 4 early, bunkers on either side, and I went back and forth, back and forth! HA! Need to work on bunkers I guess...but thanks for the course, Neil, and all your work to support TW golf.

Welcome to Scotland ! With beautiful plantings, a nice seashore, plenty of deep rough, doglegs and a few well-placed bunkers, not to mention a few tricky greens, hard to reach, this par 72 is a challenging course where, instead of scoring albatrosses, you will be hearing a few... seagulls on your way to the 18th green !
After a nice and long opening par-3 hole where you should be able to putt for a birdie, you will head for the nice left dogleg par-4 2nd, with a tee shot over deep rough landing between trees on the left and a little creek along the fairway on the right (ending behind the green, set on a small mound), and the even more scenic left dogleg par-5 3rd hole, with three little bunkers, halfway in the left corner, and that serpentine creek all along on the right side, splitting the fairway across, two-thirds of the way, and going past the green on the left, partially hidden by a small mound and gorse bushes !
If the straight par-4 4th and 5th holes look a little bit alike with 4 bunkers across midway on the 4th and gorse bushes across on the 5th, the green is much easier on the 4th, with a small bunker on the left, compared to the 5th, with its big bunker across in front (but with an easier tee shot over those bushes).
I also like the left dogleg par-5 6th hole, with its winding fairway and its two bunkers in the corner on both sides, and its long and slightly-downhill approach to the green (with the beach and ocean behind), and the scenic par-3 7th, parallel to the seafront on the right with a blind tee shot over deep rough and its small green.
The long left dogleg par-5 8th hole is quite nice too, along the ocean on the right, with a creek across the fairway (ending in the ocean) in front of the green, making your approach quite risky if you want to reach it on your second shot, unlike the much easier left dogleg par-4 9th, with a downhill green, reachable with a short approach.
Coming back, I like the par-3 10th hole, with deep rough between the tee box and the elongated green (with a few bunkers around) and, between the next two right dogleg par-4 holes (with trees on the left of the fairway halfway and an uphill approach to the green), the longer 12th, with its narrower fairway and smaller green...
After the par-3 13th hole, with a slightly-uphill and blind tee shot and an elongated green (with a couple of bunkers on both sides), you will reach one of my favorite holes, the pretty right dogleg par-5 14th, with a slightly-uphill blind tee shot over the meandering creek and some deep rough landing downward in the corner between the creek again (on the right) and two small bunkers (on the left), followed by a very long second shot to the slightly-elevated green, with the beach behind.
On the left dogleg par-4 15th hole, with the ocean all along on the right side, you will be able to cut the corner by hitting your tee shot over the trees on the left, while making sure to avoid some elongated bunkers, further to the right.
The last three holes are beautiful... and tough : the uphill par-3 16th has plenty of deep rough between the tee box and the green, quite narrow with two deep elongated bunkers on both sides (and a little slope), and the par-5 17th hole is very picturesque, with its winding fairway split by the serpentine creek on the left and a long second shot over it to try to reach the green, with the creek on the right side.
As for the short left dogleg par-4 18th hole, it is very pretty too with its house and small garden to the right of the green, partially hidden by tall trees, making your approach a little tricky, with the creek running past the green on the left.
If "Heaven can wait", according to Warren Beatty, you should not wait to play this East... Haven course, another great design by Neil Munro !
