After playing this course early in November, I did not realize that it was updated twice since, so I played it again tonight after reading Gunpower61's latest instructions... Bruce, I don't know what you fixed, but it gave me another occasion to enjoy your course, so much so that I beat my previous record by 4 shots ! On the way, I read my comments again and realized that on the par-5 17th, contrary to what I wrote earlier, reaching the green is almost impossible on your second shot (even with a tail wind) but that did not stop me from scoring a birdie on it. So, thank you again for this well-designed course which ran very smoothly the third time around !

Enjoyed the course, played like a real course to me, and as usual I struggled at times, but certainly the course is fair, good bounces, some tricky greens, wouldn't expect anything less from BRyder! Thanks for another great course!

A mostly wide-open course but with quite a few narrow fairways, some slight elevation changes, and with plenty of well-placed trees and bunkers, making this par 72, quite realistic, tougher than it looks at first. After a nice opening par-4 hole, with light rough and a couple of big bunkers midway through, I like the slightly-uphill par-3 2nd hole, with a big pond halfway, slightly to the left, and the right dogleg par-5 3rd, uphill all the way with a tee shot over a big pond, and a long and blind second shot to the wide and round green, with two elongated bunkers on the sides in front. Then, after the par-4 4th hole, with a narrow fairway in the middle and a green, slightly to the right, you will reach the short (about 360 yards) dogleg par-4 5th, one of my favorites, quite challenging with a fairway bending very sharply to the right along a wide lake, and a big bunker right in the corner of the narrow and slanted fairway, with a few trees, partially hiding the view of the green ! Two other nice holes are the slightly uphill par-3 8th, with its small green, framed by two trees, and two bunkers in front and behind, and the short (less than 500 yards) and straight par-5 9th hole, slightly uphill all the way and where, despite a few trees and bunkers lined up next to the narrow fairway (on the right), you should have a chance to putt for an eagle... The back 9 starts with the short (about 320 yards) par-4 10th hole, with a blind tee shot and a narrow fairway near the green, then continues with the right dogleg par-4 11th, uphill all the way, and the left dogleg par-4 12th hole, with a blind and downhill tee shot landing onto a slanted fairway. On the par-5 14th hole, if the fairway is narrow in the middle (with bunkers on both sides), you will have another eagle opportunity after hitting your blind approach to the green, before moving on to the nice par-3 15th, where you will need to hit a blind (and steeply uphill) tee shot to reach the slanted green. Then, after hitting a delicate approach shot to the green on the par-4 16th hole, guarded by a couple of wide bunkers in front, you will have to be careful to avoid deep weeds and gorse bushes, halfway across the fairway on the straight par-5 17th, uphill all the way, before hitting a blind second shot to the green, with a big elongated bunker on the right. Even though I am not sure if this Cape Cod Player's Club is part of the three upcoming "real" courses, mentioned by Bruce Ryder in the shoutbox, this one plays very smoothly and offers quite a few challenging holes, thanks to his nice design.
