With small mountains as a backdrop, subtle elevation changes, nice plantings (thick trees and colorful flowers and bushes), a few water hazards and some tricky greens, hard to read around the cups sometimes, this course is tougher than it looks.
On the front 9, I like the very pretty right dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a small elongated lake winding its way in front of the tee box from the left to the right, followed by two other small elongated ponds across the fairway, and the left dogleg par-5 4th, with a hollow wasteland across the fairway halfway, and a long second (and slightly-uphill) shot to the green.
After the nice left dogleg par-4 7th hole, with a downhill tee shot and an uphill approach to the green with an elongated pond all the way across in front, you will move on to the pretty par-3 8th, downhill and quite colorful with flowers near the edge of a small pond across (not far from the tee box) and more behind the green.
As for the left dogleg par-5 9th hole, you will have to be careful with your slightly-downhill tee shot to avoid landing in one of the three small bunkers across midway through, before hitting a slightly-uphill second shot to the green, with a deep elongated bunker on the left while admiring the nice clubhouse with 4 tennis courts and a parking lot behind, on the right !
The back 9 starts with another par-5, the right dogleg 10th hole, quite pretty with a tee shot over a small river running across not far from the tee box, with a big pond on the right halfway and a slightly-uphill green.
I also like the right dogleg par-4 12th hole, with a couple of bunkers on the left midway through (and trees on the right), and a long approach shot to the green, with a big pond (with a few weeds and rocks in the water) on the right, and the right dogleg par-5 14th, with the fairway next to a small creek all the way to the green.
Then, after the left dogleg par-4 15th hole, downhill all the way to the green, you will reach the scenic left dogleg par-4 16th, with a blind and downhill tee shot over a little bit of water linking a small pond on the right and a big lake on the left, halfway, before aiming for the green with the end of the lake in front.
Finally, after the par-3 17th hole, with a tee shot over a big lake, you will face the left dogleg par-5 18th, quite picturesque with an uphill tee shot, a big bunker in the left corner halfway and a beautiful downhill approach shot to the green, with a big pond in front and the nice clubhouse with the mountains behind.
Once again, Micko designed another pretty course, with some interesting and challenging holes and quite fun to play !
