As I expected, The course looks great and the planting, from the games master planter, is just superb.

From Carnoustie, the REAL home of golf.

Well, when Holein1 says it is one of rlslay's best ever - and when rlslay has designed 6 of my personal top 50 (now 7 out of 51) favorite courses, it is a must-play immediately. My first impression was a course on Oahu, with Honolulu on the right side. And I love Hawaii. So rlslay had me from the get-go, and it only got better. If the breezy wind isn't in your face constantly it really isn't a terribly difficult course, but one you can go out and just enjoy, like a real round of golf none of us (well, me, anyway) could afford to play! Thanks, rlslay, thanks Holein1, and as always my admiration for all the designers...(Bgravolicious, hate to say it but you are now 1 behind on my list...:-)

An excellent golf course. The planting up is visually quite amazing and the course is a joy to play. I know how much work must have gone into this, so well done and thanks for sharing.

Another spectacular course from rlslay who, as usual, must spend a fortune paying all the gardeners to keep this course in such immaculate conditions, with four or five rows of bushes lining up the wide (and often undulating) fairways, not to mention the beautiful pink flowers often seen around the greens.
And I am not even talking about the gorgeous panorama of the seashore cities, the nice and blue ocean, the small mountains and the desert land below, seen on quite a few holes, or the nice meandering paths and work done around the bunkers... Need I say more ?
Right off the bat, you will see why this course is another beautiful postcard with the right dogleg par-4 1st hole, offering a spectacular downhill panoramic view from the tee box with beautiful plantings all along the fairway, and the left dogleg par-5 2nd, with an elevated green, with 3 pot bunkers in front, on the left.
The par-4 3rd hole is a right dogleg, where you can cut the corner by hitting your downhill tee shot over plenty of bushes before hitting your slightly-uphill approach down to the green, surrounded by beautiful bushes and flowers.
The par-3 4th hole is slightly downhill, with such a superb panoramic view that you wish the ball could stop in mid-air (LOL !) to take a picture, and is followed by the par-4 5th, with a green, slightly to the right, and on a small mound, with a few small bunkers below.
Then, after the par-4 6th hole, with an undulating and slightly-downhill fairway all the way to the green, slightly to the left, you will face your first water hazard with the par-5 7th, slightly downhill and with a small lake in front of the elongated green, hard to reach on your second shot.
The next two holes are not too difficult, but the par-3 8th is very scenic with a gorgeous panoramic view as you reach the green, surrounded by three small pot bunkers below, whereas the right dogleg par-5 9th, less picturesque (but still pretty !), will need a very long second shot to reach the slightly-elevated green.
Water hazards are more present on the back 9, starting with the right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with a tiny pond on the right of the green, surrounded by bushes and flowers, and continuing with the left dogleg par-5 11th, with a small bunker in the left corner halfway and a small lake on the left of the green.
On the par-3 12th hole, with a big pot bunker on the left in front of the elevated green, and a smaller one on the right, you will have to be careful while putting as the slope is a little tricky around the cup, before heading for the nice right dogleg par-4 13th, similar to the 3rd hole, with a downhill tee shot over bushes and trees, but landing onto a narrow fairway with a few bunkers and a big lake on the left, ending near the green.
While the par-4 14th hole is not too difficult with its wide and undulating fairway, it is gorgeous with a view of the mountains, mostly on the left, and the city, next to the ocean on the right, and an uphill shot to the green (with a pot bunker on the left and a big lake on the right), just like the par-3 15th with a tee shot over a wide lake and the views of the mountains, desert, and lush vegetation.
If the par-4 16th hole is straight, the slightly-downhill and undulating fairway is not, bending right, next to a big half-moon-shaped lake midway, before turning left, with four pot bunkers in the left corner, unlike the right dogleg par-4 17th, with a big lake on the left, near the tee box, a slightly-downhill tee shot, and with another lake further to the right, not far from the slightly-elevated green, framed by two pot bunkers in front !
Believe or not, the best is for last with the magnificent par-5 18th hole, simply gorgeous with its spectacular seashore view, with a slightly-downhill tee shot over the lake landing onto an undulating fairway, and with a “do-or-die” long second shot over a very wide lake on the right (with nice villas further to the right), ending near the green, with two small pot bunkers in front, on the right !
rslay does not release too many courses but, when he does, you know you will be in for a treat and this one is no exception as it is one of his best ever...
And speaking of a treat, I am glad to have chosen this new rlslay's course to write my... 1000th comment. Once again, thank you, rlslay (and all other designers) for your talent, your hard work and for sharing your passion with all of us !
