Must admit I have a problem with this course. Since installing I only play this one now :)) This is a blend of great graphics, tournament atmosphere and superb elevation changes. Said its in my top 5 but now I would say its more like in top 3 :) Many, many thanks Quietly it so much appreciated.

Finally able to play this course- nice - a lot of work went into making of this - and a pleasure to play. Really nice to see hang-gliders actually moving on this course. Tournament atmosphere just great all around. Plays good too. Thanks for sharing this gem!

Thanks for response - a bit of trial and error. Finally found cls folder with winzip and did a copy and paste and then deleted the other cls folder that loaded with game. All is good now. Thanks for info. Ron

If I understand correctly, there should be a zip file somewhere on your computer that you downloaded that has the course in it. It should be called something like 9844_torreypinessout.zip Open that zip file using Winrar or whichever program you use to open zip files.
When you open that zip file, you'll see a folder inside (Torrey Pines South Course).
In a separate window, navigate to the install directory on your computer for TW08 (likely in Program Files directory). Go in that directory, and then open the Courses folder inside. Inside the courses folder, you'll see folders for all the courses you've installed.
Now, just 'drag' the Torrey Pines South Course folder from inside the zip file over to the Courses folder and drop it in that folder. It should ask you permission to overwrite things. when it does, say yes.

Same issue as macko68 - patrons or crowds are all yellow one time - all green another or all white. This on both Torrey Pines courses. Quote " Did you make sure you copied all the files from inside the CLS folder in the zip file, into the installed CLS folder?" Have no idea where to find this folder. When I click on myzip of the course it loads it into game whether I use TW caddie or not. When I look in courses in game it is there. No idea where this CLS folder is and files inside it. I know it`s something I am missing somewhere - will wait for more clarity. Thanks Ron

I know the issue you're describing. The game can't find a dds graphics file for one or more of the gallery groups (I used 3 on this course) It's likely MaleGallerynew2Tex.dds that the game can't find as the other two files referenced are default filenames that are available to all courses.
Did you make sure you copied all the files from inside the CLS folder in the zip file, into the installed CLS folder?

The only thing I have a problem with is spectators (during tournaments). People have weird colors and are glitched graphically. On other courses they look good. Anybody have the same ?

With hang-gliders and paragliders flying by the coastline, needless to say, you might be distracted quite a bit on this beautiful rendition of the Torrey Pines South course, slightly different from Quietly's previous version, released in June (US Open at Torrey Pines). With a few changed tee positions (and that big tower gone in front of the 13th tee, now repositioned behind it) and a par-5 6th hole (instead of a par-4 previously), this par 72 looks great, with its two shades of green on the fairways, and new structures around the course. But one thing has not changed : its difficulty ! With plenty of out-of-bound areas, you better hit pretty accurate shots to avoid hollow wastelands, vertiginous cliffs and deep rolling hills if you want to finish with a decent score. After the first two holes, slightly uphill and to the right, the scenery becomes gorgeous on the steep downhill par-3 3rd, with a panoramic view of the ocean in front, a tee shot over part of the deep valley, on the left, and a scary cliff behind the green. The straight par-4 4th hole looks like a postcard, with its fairway next to the cliffs on the left and those hang gliders and paragliders flying pretty close to the tee above the crashing waves below. With the ocean on the far right, the par-4 5th hole is less difficult with a blind uphill tee shot and a green, slightly to the right, unlike the right dogleg par-5 6th, where you will have to hit a nice tee shot to avoid a big hollow out-of-bound wasteland on the right and a lone and thick tree in the right corner midway through. Then, after the dogleg right par-4 7th hole with its spectacular panoramic view of the deep rolling hills as you reach the green, the next few holes are inland : the straight par-3 8th is slightly uphill, whereas the par-5 9th and par-4 10th holes are pretty straight, with a lot of office buildings on the left side of the fairways. The straight par-3 11th hole is beautiful with its spectacular view of the... big parking lot (with plenty of cars !) behind the covered grandstands and the ocean below, and is followed by the par-4 12th, with its fairway along the parking lot again, on the left. The par-5 13th hole is very scenic, with a tee shot over a big and deep hollow wasteland on the left, ending near the elevated green, guarded by a few bunkers in front on both sides, just like the par-4 14th, with its steep slopes on the left side of the fairway and behind the green. The par-3 16th hole is one of my favorites, with its straight uphill tee shot over a deep out-of-bound wasteland, its colorful and elongated grandstands on the right near the small green, and its panoramic view of the cliffs and ocean behind, but the par-4 17th hole is nice too with a tee shot over a wide and deep wasteland on the left side and a slightly-elevated green. Finally, on the par-5 18th hole, you will have to hit a long and tough approach shot to the green, while making sure to avoid the small pond in front on the left side, before heading for a well-deserved rest near the swimming pool of the big hotel on the right side ! With nice textures and new... creatures (golf marshals and those amazing hang gliders), this Torrey Pines version is a pure delight to watch and play, and you should definitely play both courses to really admire all the great work done by Quietly in a few months'time...

Well, leave it to me, Quietly, to hit it just where neither of us wanted it! Appreciate the explanation, we who don't do what you do have no idea of the complexity you deal with. Thanks for all you work, your talent, so many enjoy your courses every day.

I made everything outside of those blue fences OB, as best I could which seemed reasonable. Your description is that the ball was in fact on the 'in-bounds' side of the fence but your character was placed behind the fence. In the real world, your right handed golfer would have had to play a back handed shot from where the ball was. I can't make the game do that, and in order to keep the golfer character on the correct side of the fence, I would have had to place the OB line 3-5 yards inside the fence.
I felt that would have created a different 'flaw' because most people would look at the fences as though they were OB markers but the OB being well inside of them would have given the appearance of a ball landing in-play near the fence somehow being OB.
It was a no win scenario, compounded by the fact that the fences, in order to be properly lit, are not solid and the ball can pass right through them.
I did the best I could but there will always be some flaws or errors like this due to the limits of the architect and library creator.
I was honestly hoping everyone would just not hit it over there :)

Enjoyed the course and all the fine touches Quietly brings to TW! Always a pleasure to play his courses, and enjoy the real ones the most. Did happen to over-draw my tee shot on 10, I believe, and ended up rolling down the sidewalk along the blue barriers - when it stopped, the game positioned me behind the blue barriers with my club disappearing into the blue - 8 iron, I took a swing and ended up on the green, so it played true, but probably should have been a drop...
