With nice green hills as a panorama, beautiful fairways with a few doglegs and elevated greens, not to mention a couple of water holes on the back 9, this par 72 is another great course, designed by Micko. After the right dogleg par-4 1st hole, with nice flowers near the tee and a downhill approach to the green, my favorite holes are the par-4 4th, with a blind tee shot slightly downhill, two tiny ponds on the right halfway through and two big ones near the green, to the left and to the right, and the right dogleg par-4 6th hole, with three small bunkers behind trees in the right corner and an elevated green, with nice villas behind. I also like the long (about 620 yards) par-5 7th hole, with a downhill and slanted fairway, twisting to the left then to the right, with trees hiding the green making it quite tough to reach it on your second shot, the picturesque par-3 8th, with a downhill tee shot and deep rough on both sides of the very narrow fairway, and a green surrounded by 5 bunkers, and the right dogleg par-4 9th hole, with a wide open view, trees in the corner of an undulating fairway and an elevated green with nice red brick houses (with flowers and bushes in front) on a hilltop further behind. On the back 9, I like the right dogleg par-4 10th hole, slightly downhill, with a blind tee shot over some trees and a big lake behind in the right corner near the undulating fairway, and the short (about 290 yards) par-4 12th hole, downhill all the way, but very risky with a small pond in front of the green, a little bit to the right, and trees on the left side, hiding it completely. I also like the last three holes : the straight par-3 16th is easy but very pretty, with a tee shot over a small lake and a little bridge, the par-4 17th hole is a left dogleg, with a lake, slightly to the left of the tee, trees in the left corner a little bit further, and with a slightly-elevated green, and the par-4 18th is another left dogleg where you can hit your tee shot over trees to cut the corner to reach the undulating fairway (but watch out for the bunker behind !), in order to have a clearer view of the elevated green and its nice red brick houses with flowerbeds behind. With a nice texture used for the fairways, colorful flowers around some greens, and a few well-placed water hazards, you will enjoy playing at Haywood Park while gazing at England's lovely countryside, thanks to Micko's design !
