Another very hilly panorama on this wide-open course with some wide lakes to watch for, a few well-placed elongated bunkers and a few tricky greens, and some nice opening and finishing holes. My favorite holes on the front 9 are the left dogleg par-4 1st, slightly-downhill and all the way to the green with two big bunkers on both sides of the fairway in the corner and a lake, a little bit further behind the green, the pretty right dogleg par-4 2nd hole, with an elongated lake (and nice villas along) on the left and another small lake, next to the green on the right, and the scenic par-3 3rd, with a tee shot over part of a lake and some nice residential homes right behind the green ! I also like the par-5 5th hole, slightly to the left with three small bunkers in front of the green on the left, and a nice view of the lake and houses behind, and the par-4 6th, with a tee shot over a tiny creek (with a little bridge on the right), a fairway bending to the left, and then to the right, and a small lake to the right of the green, with nice townhouses on the left and the road behind. The par-5 7th hole, on another hand, is quite long (more than 630 yards) with another S-shaped fairway and a few mounds in front of the slightly-elevated green on the right side, whereas the par-3 8th is nice, with a big hollow sand trap in the middle of the fairway and a road on the left side, just like the par-4 9th hole, with a heavily-slanted fairway and a parking lot and a clubhouse on the left side midway through. The back 9 has some nice holes too, starting with the right dogleg par-5 10th, with a wide lake on the right side and some nice flowers and bushes behind the green, and the dogleg par-5 12th hole, with a lake on the left side of the wide fairway and all the way downhill to the green with a nice panoramic view. But my favorite holes are the next three : the par-3 13th hole is simply gorgeous, with a small island with trees and bushes in the middle of a big lake and a peninsula green, very close to the water with a beautiful lone villa further back, the left dogleg par-4 14th has a choice of two fairways with an elongated lake in the middle but, either way, you will have to hit your approach shot over the water to reach the green, and the right dogleg par-4 15th is quite picturesque, with the fairway between two lakes, with the right one having some nice trees along the side. The last two holes are nice, but less spectacular : the par-3 17th has a wide lake on the left side and plenty of deep rough between the tee box and the green, set on a small plateau with some trees behind, and the left dogleg par-4 18th hole has a slightly-downhill green with the clubhouse on the left side. Well-designed, once again by Micko, this par 72 is visually nice and, with plenty of water hazards, it will offer you a challenging round in South Africa, far away from the Louisiana bayous you might have expected looking at its name...
