With beautiful hills and a wide lake below, this par 72 offers some breathtaking views from many holes and is delightful to play. After a left dogleg par-4 1st hole, with some nice houses a litte bit further behind the green, I like the long downhill par-5 2nd, with villas lined up on the left side of the fairway and behind the green, slightly to the right. Then, after the downhill right dogleg par-4 3rd hole, with a tee shot over trees in the right corner of a nice tree-lined fairway and a slightly-downhill green, you will reach one of my favorite holes, the downhill par-3 4th, with a gorgeous panoramic view from the tee to the green with a lake right behind it, and the wider lake further back ! Another great and quite challenging hole is the left dogleg par-5 6th, with a lake on the left and a little creek across midway joining it (making your tee shot quite tricky) and a very long (and sometimes blind) approach shot (with trees bordering the lake) to the green, with some nice manors and big houses on the left side. The downhill right dogleg par-4 7th hole is not too difficult but it is pretty too, with a narrow tree-lined fairway and a gorgeous view of the lake and the mountains below as you reach the green, framed by two bunkers (with high rough around), just like the easy downhill par-3 8th, with another superb overall view of the colorful trees and the panorama. You will also like the downhill right dogleg par-4 9th hole, with yellow trees on the right side, a small lake on the right near the green and a nice clubhouse behind with outside tables ready to welcome you ! If the back 9 is less difficult and less scenic, I like the downhill left dogleg par-5 11th hole, with two bunkers in the corner midway through, and a few trees on the left making your (long and blind) approach shot to the green (with three big bunkers around), a little bit tricky. The downhill right dogleg par-4 14th hole is a little bit different, with two bunkers in the middle making the fairway quite narrow, and an elevated green with a nice view of the valley behind, but my favorite hole, coming back, is the downhill right dogleg par-4 18th (seen on the above picture), with trees in the right corner near the tee, “forcing” you to hit your shot a little more to the left with the "danger" of landing in one of the two bunkers midway, and a delicate approach shot across the lake, with the clubhouse behind. Woodside Park is one of those courses where you wish the ball would stop in mid-air, so that you could admire the great panoramic views but, even though this is not possible, you will still have a ball playing this fantasy course, well designed, once again by Micko !
