A beautiful course with a hilly panorama, a wide-open landscape, subtle elevation changes and plenty of challenging holes. With nice trees planted along the fairways, well-placed bunkers, especially around the greens, and a few water hazards, this par 72 is no pushover... On the front 9, I like the scenic and straight par-4 2nd hole, with nice houses on the hilltop in front and a small lake on the right, not far from the green, the par-3 3rd, also straight, with the green at the end of an elongated lake (with a few rocks in it), and the left dogleg par-5 4th hole, with a small lake on the right side (near the tee area) and a couple of mounds in front of the elevated green on the left side. After the downhill par-4 5th hole, slightly to the right, I also like the sharp right dogleg par-4 6th, with trees lined up on the left side of the fairway, and the long par-5 (more than 600 yards) 7th hole, pretty straight, with trees, again, on the left side of the fairway. The last two downhill holes are quite nice too : the straight par-3 8th, with a little hollow wasteland in front, has a nice panoramic view, and the straight par-4 9th hole is very picturesque, with a lake, surrounded by trees, on the left side midway through and all the way to the green, with nice stone steps leading up to the clubhouse behind it. The back 9 starts with the right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with two uphill shots and two small bunkers in front of the green, and continues with the downhill right dogleg par-5 11th, with a big bunker across the fairway, two-thirds of the way, and a slopey green, quite tricky. The downhill par-3 13th hole is not too difficult but it has a small pond in front, near the green, and bunkers in a u-shape around the green. I also like the straight par-3 15th hole, quite scenic, with plenty of trees in a hollow wasteland in front of the green, and a nice view of the rolling hills beyond, and the right dogleg par-4 17th hole, with its two uphill shots, the second (and blind) one slightly to the right, with a few bunkers and trees on the right side of the fairway to watch for. As for the right dogleg par-5 18th hole, with a lake on the right side, it is on the opposite side of the 9th, but is harder as trees hide your approach shot to the green... With quite a few slopes on the greens and some tough approach shots, this course will offer you a nice challenge and you will be glad to have found your way to the... Lost City, thanks to Micko's very nice design !
