Just came across this course today. Whatever made you pick this course to do ?. I used to be a junior member here over 50 years ago when it was only 9 holes and run by the RAF at Halton. I remember it being really tight and tree lined. The 8th hole Par 3 up the hill was almost vertical !. Your design is great. I really enjoyed playing it. The changes in elevations are first class. I really must go back and play the real course again. I wish I could do a TW08 design for my current home course (Knebworth Hertfordshire)but I dont have the expertise or patience :(. Anyway you have created a really nice course here and look forward to your next one, especially if its Knebworth :).

Thank you for your king comments. It means a lot and also gives encouragement to continue this work. One piece of warning regarding hole 16. The fairway runs out 215 yards from the pro tee and in not a design error. This is a best effort at a true replication which leaves a long uplhill shot to the green..

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.
No course in the works: retired. |

I just took a break from going down the list of 2008 real courses to play this brand new course, released today, and did not regret my decision : this course is a definite keeper ! With its beautiful countryside, this par-70 is very enjoyable but requires some serious thinking about club selection as most par-4 holes are reachable from the tee, such as on the par-4 1st where a blind tee shot (about 260 yards) will be enough to reach the downhill green. If the par-4 2nd hole, with a steep downhill tee shot, and the par-3 3rd with its tree-lined fairway and small green set the tone for what to expect on this course, the par-5 4th, a dogleg to the left, and the par-4 5th, with its uphill tee shot, will show you otherwise. After two more downhill holes, the par-3 8th, my favorite, is a beautiful surprise with its pretty steep elevated green and the par-4 9th is an uphill dogleg to the right. On the back 9, the par-4 11th hole is quite tricky with a lone tree standing in the way of the downhill green. The next three holes have gorgeous tree-lined fairways and the par-3 15th looks similar to the 8th hole but is not as steep uphill. As for the par-4 16th hole, it has a tough uphill approach shot to the green. With the great elevation work done by TeeOffTowersey, this course, which may seem relatively easy at first, can punish you quickly if you gamble too much from the tee and this is why it is a delight to play it !

Great little course, I love elevation change! #8 is fantastic, and don't come up short with your tee shot on 15... Thanks for not sloping all the fairways towards the rough, all of the bounces I got were fair, as expected, although a couple certainly did jump into the rough. Certainly isn't a long course, made me feel like DeChambeau - HA! Out of 400+ courses I have my list of 21 favorites - you designed 3 of them. Really appreciate you work, your art.
