this updated version of the 2015 course, designed by msr golf and tee off golf, has some interesting differences, notably the presence of more trees on almost every hole and the... disappearance of the small-scale turkish airline planes as tee markers, "replaced" behind the tee boxes by... golf bags !
another noticeable difference is the color of the bunkers : now, they are white (whereas before they were more like light yellow/brown) and, visually, it is the first thing you notice as you get ready to tee off.
case in point : the par-5 1st hole, with those big and wide sand traps lined up on the left side of the fairway. it continues with the scenic, but easy, par-3 2nd hole. my favorite holes on the front 9, however, are the par-5 4th, with a very tough second shot (almost impossible to reach the green), the nice par-3 5th, with your tee shot flying above the big pond, the "cute" par-3 8th, with its meandering creek running across the fairway and its little bridge made of stones, and the nice view as your reach the green of the par-4 9th hole.
on the back 9, you will face plenty of bunkers, with some nice holes like the par-5 11th, with lots of them near the green, just like on the par-5 13th. and after looking at the easy, but scenic, par-3 16th hole, you will realize upon reaching the par-5 18th hole that you have come full circle as the final hole looks a lot like the first !
overall, this par 72 plays very smoothly and ron717 deserves to be thanked for his very nice update which is quite enjoyable to watch and play...
