Very nice course with high trees and textures used (soil, fairways, greens) reminiscent of Augusta, albeit less spectacular with no... azaleas (or other flowers for that matter !).
With its nice elevated terrain, this par 70 plays very smoothly but can be quite tricky on a few slopey greens with high rough and/or bunkers around.
The left dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a slightly downhill tee shot and a big bunker in front of the green on the right side is nice, but the long left dogleg par-5 3rd hole, with a winding road on the left side and a downhill slope all the way to the green (with bunkers on both sides of the fairway and three more around the green) is even nicer.
I also like the two par-3 holes : the 4th, with the green real close to the other side of the lake and the 6th, with its elevated green and beautiful panoramic overview.
Another gorgeous hole is the sharp dogleg to the right par-4 8th, with a meandering creek running all the way to the green (with a little bridge midway through) requiring two uphill shots to reach it. As for the par-4 9th hole, I like the nice roundabout near the clubhouse, not far from the green.
Even though I prefer the front 9, there are some challenging holes too on the way back : the long and left dogleg par-5 11th hole, for example, with its 2 tiny bridges over tall grass is tough, just like the other par-5 15th hole, with two slightly uphill shots to the green, guarded by a big bunker and a few high trees in front.
The last two holes, the par-3 17th, with a tee shot over a hollow lake, and the left dogleg par-4 18th hole, with two uphill shots, should convince you to take a closer look at this course, well designed once again by DaveL, who is proving, after the Cherry Golf Club, that he is one of the best upcoming designers around...

Really liked this one. The textures and panorama matched the feel for a North Carolina based course. I also really liked the detail in the bunkers.

Areas that could be improved- There was a pin with some significant roll back on the back right of the 6th green. Some greens seemed a little too big and the shapes were not very detailed. It would be nice to have a little better view off the tee on holes 3, 14, and 15. All those are tiny things that I think would really help the course out.

What I liked- The overall attention to detail: The road surrounding the course, the houses along that road, benches on tee boxes, bridges over the tall grass swails, adding the practice area, putting green, and everything around the clubhouse. My favorite holes were the 2nd and the 15th. The second is a short par 4, where a layup takes the bunkers out of play, but you can hit driver and get really close to the green. It slopes from back to front and being above the hole gives you a tough putt. 15 is a reachable par 5 but you have to hit two solid shots and avoid a couple tall, slim trees that guard the green. I also liked the 10th hole, because I jarred an eagle from the rough!

I really like your design style and look forward to playing this one more and all your future courses!
