My latest foray into the Bolin catalogue and this is another ripper - an outstanding design and fair heck of a course. Visually stunning, with a great pano and the terrain and setting is beautiful. Plays smooth and true throughout, as per usual with a BB design. The course is a great challenge with several superb holes, particularly on the fascinating back 9 - I stopped bothering to look for favourites. Just an awesome piece of work, top shelf all the way, cheers!

(suite) thanks to bobby bolin's work and... patience, he was able to fix the tw07 displaying bug that "spoiled" my first trip to barrow in ireland (see previous message). and i am glad he did ! this par 72 links course is pretty with its nice panorama where you can admire the sea and the small towns further back, while trying to avoid the deep bunkers and mounds spread all over the course. on the front 9, i like the gorgeous dogleg to the right par-5 2nd hole, with the fairway pretty close to the seashore, and the scenic par-3 3rd, with its ancient tower beyond the green and the nice view of the bay, just like around the downhill green of the sharp dogleg to the right par-4 6th hole. the back 9 is more inland and has some very picturesque and more challenging holes. the par-5 11th hole, for example, requires a tough blind and long uphill second shot to get close to the green, whereas the par-4 12th has plenty of mounds, especially around the downhill green. the par-3 13th hole is quite pretty with its tee shot flying from one hill to another with the sea as a backdrop, a sharp contrast to the par-4 14th hole, with its slanted fairway, bunkers and its blind uphill second shot. a risk/reward hole awaits you on the dogleg to the left par-4 15th where, with a blind tee shot, using your 3-wood, you can reach the green, unlike the gorgeous par-3 16th hole, where you can easily see the downhill green and its flag, dangerously close to the cliff... the last two holes, the par-4 17th and par-5 18th, are doglegs to the right and a nice way to finish your round in barrow. with plenty of high rough, deep bunkers, undulated fairways and big mounds, this links course will keep you on your toes, especially on the back 9... good (irish) luck !

Sorry Bobby but, unfortunately, this course has big displaying bugs on TW07 as everything between the sea and the course appears yellowish and grainy ! It's a "shame" as the course looks gorgeous (and I am not saying that because God created the back 9, according to Arnold Palmer's words !). I don't know if you have a solution or if it is a bug, specific to the TW07 edition... , but thanks again for all your hard work on behalf on all the other players who were able to play this links course !
