A very pretty links-style course, alternating inland holes with scenic ones next to the ocean, with a few undulating fairways, meandering creeks, some slight elevation changes, sparse plantings, well-placed bunkers and 4 long par-5 holes. If the right dogleg par-4 1st hole is nice, with a tee shot over a meandering creek halfway and a slightly-uphill green, the left dogleg par-4 2nd is trickier with a downhill tee shot (hopefully) landing past the serpentine creek next to some bunkers in the middle of the fairway. The par-3 3rd hole is simply gorgeous with a lone tree right in front of the green, next to the cliffs on the left and with a little creek behind running down to the ocean, just like the long left dogleg par-4 4th, quite spectacular with a tee shot over the rocky and sandy seashore on the left and a pretty lighthouse beyond the wide green, with the ocean a little further away that you will see even closer on the scenic par-3 5th hole ! After the right dogleg par-4 6th, with a tee shot over a narrow cliff partially across the fairway, you will move inland with the left dogleg par-5 7th hole, with a slightly-downhill tee shot and a very long second shot over a big path across the fairway (and a winding creek further back) to try to reach the slightly-elevated green, before heading back near the ocean with the very long (almost 640 yards) left dogleg 8th, slightly-uphill all the way... unlike the left dogleg par-4 9th hole, inland again with a slightly-uphill approach over a meandering creek, a little bit far away from the green. The back 9 starts with the left dogleg par-4 10th hole, slightly-uphill all the way (with beautiful trees on both sides of the undulating fairway) and continues with the very scenic right dogleg par-4 11th hole, with the fairway hugging the cliffs and the ocean on the right, and the par-5 12th, similar but with its fairway a little further away from the ocean on the right, and an elevated green. One of my favorite holes, is the very scenic par-3 13th with its tee shot over the vertiginous cliffs and nice sandy beach below on the right, quite different from the long right dogleg par-5 14th where, after your downhill tee shot, you won’t be able to reach the green (too far away), guarded by 5 small pot bunkers in front and on the right (with three more on the left !). The par-3 15th hole is quite spectacular too with a tee shot over the sandy beach (with a nice and small rocky island further to the left) and a green, very close to the edge of the cliffs (on the left), whereas on the short (about 355 yards) right dogleg par-4 16th, you will need to hit a blind and downhill tee shot over (or around) some trees (slightly to the right of the tee) to land onto the undulating fairway, before aiming for the steeply-elevated green. As for the last two straight par-4 holes, back inland, they are not too difficult, with a slightly-uphill second shot over a meandering creek to reach the green on the 17th, and another uphill approach to the green on the 18th, with plenty of bunkers all around. With this Fortune Bay course, rlslay designed another beauty and proved, once again, how talented he is, and how... fortunate we are to be able to play and enjoy his masterpieces !

Wow you're right a miss spelling on my part. I want to thank you for the kind words and that you enjoy the course and for coming back to comment. I believe what you said on the 11th hole it is all out of bounce all around the green and the rock cliffs, there are OB stakes could be hard to see with the deep rough i used and there is no drop so you go back to the tee with a penalty. I'll make a new splash... thanks again

Great course, rislay! The name on the opening picture is Forture Bay GC (see above). Also, on 11 my second shot was probably short right (the camera stayed behind me, didn't follow the ball which was unusual...) and it appeared to hit the rocks. The camera jumped to the green where it shifted like it was following a ball, but there was no ball to be seen. Did that for a while. Then instantly I was back where I hit the shot, no OB or penalty notice, no drop - just back where I was. Hit the same shot, same weird behavior, then I hit a third shot from there left of the hole, two-putted and it scored a nine. By the way, thanks for the rough to the left of the greens on 3 and 15!
