This Serpentine Creek course is a misnomer, as it should be called Serpentine River course !
Unlike Quibble Canyon and Crater Lake, the two previous courses from Wild Turkey Design that I played, this par 72 is pretty flat and is quite "easy", if you can read the few tricky slopes on the greens...
While not overly spectacular, this course still has a few nice holes, starting with the left dogleg par-4 1st, with the lake on the right side and the dogleg par-4 2nd, with an elongated bunker and the lake, again on the right.
But my favorite holes, on the front 9, are the straight par-5 5th, with a small pond on the right side of the green with nice flowers around, the straight par-4 6th hole, with its nice peninsula green, surrounded by more flowers and reeds, and the right dogleg par-4 9th, with a tee shot over the river and two big bunkers guarding the sloped green, next to the high-rise building on the left.
Coming back, if the par-4 13th hole is nice, as it follows the serpentine river to the right, I prefer the similar par-5 14th, as big bunkers in the middle of the undulated fairway make it more challenging, all the way to the sloped green.
Finally, the left dogleg par-4 17th hole, with a tee shot over the river, has a gorgeous property with a nice garden beyond the green, unlike the left dogleg par-4 18th hole where, after another tee shot over the river, you will end up "admiring" that high-rise building again !
Needless to say, compared to the 2 previously-mentioned courses, this one is far less scenic but it plays well and, thanks to Wild Turkey design, you should have a nice stress-free round of golf...
