Another nice little course by Wild Turkey Design, with plenty of (golden) high rough and plenty of.. ponds !
With nice trees and a few big rocks around the water, this par 72 plays very smoothly and can be quite rewarding if you can avoid getting wet.
On the front 9, I like the scenic par-3 2nd hole, with its tee shot over a small pond, surrounded by big rocks (but watch out for the slopey green !), the par-5 4th, with a slightly uphill tee shot and a slightly downhill approach shot to the green with a small pond to the right, the par-4 5th hole, with a pond across in front of the green, and the right dogleg par-4 8th, quite short (around 280 yards), with a big pond on the left, but with a green, hidden by trees on the right.
Coming back, the right dogleg par-4 10th hole is nice but, with a downhill tee shot and water across halfway, you have to be careful about club selection, unlike on the scenic ()but easy par-3 11th, with a big u-shaped pond in front of the green.
If the par-4 12th hole, with its downhill shot and big pond in front of the elevated green (slightly to the right) is nice, I prefer the tougher right dogleg par-5 13th, with its donwhill and slanted fairway, water across, and elevated green with a steep slope in front.
Finally, the par-4 18th hole, quite short (about 340 yards), can be a little tricky too with its slanted fairway, its big pond on the left and its elevated green, not far from the tennis courts on the right side...
Golden Fields is nice without being overly difficult and is well designed with some elevated greens, plenty of water hazards and a few tricky downhill tee shots, thanks to Wild Turkey Design !
