With small mountains as a backdrop, plenty of elevation changes, this pretty par 74 (!) will challenge you, despite its (mostly) wide tree-lined fairways, with quite a few doglegs, a river to fly over on a couple of holes, some well-placed bunkers, and plenty of blind second and/or third shots toward the (often) steeply-elevated greens. After a “gentle” start with the par-4 opening hole, uphill all the way and with a tree-lined undulating fairway, set between hills on the left and slopes on the right, you will face the tough left dogleg par-5 2nd, with a similar tee shot but with a blind approach to the green (partially hidden by trees on the left), set on a high rocky plateau. Two of the next three holes are par-3s, with the 3rd, needing a blind tee shot to enjoy a nice panoramic view of the valley as you reach the downhill green, and the 5th, being uphill all the way toward the undulating green. Another nice hole is the right dogleg par-4 6th, with a steeply-downhill tee shot and an approach to the green, with a river way below on the left, just like the par-5 8th, downhill all the way, but with a blind second shot landing down a big slope near the green, set slightly to the left. Then, after the right dogleg par-4 9th hole, and its steeply-elevated green, you will move on to the short (around 330 yards) and very risky, par-4 10th, with a blind and steeply-downhill tee shot landing near (or beyond... depending on the wind !) the river flowing across in front of the green. After the right dogleg par-4 11th hole, and its steeply-uphill approach to the green, you will have your hands full with the very tough left dogleg par-5 12th, with its winding fairway, quite narrow in the middle (with bunkers on both sides), a blind and steeply-uphill second shot to the right, and another blind one downward the undulating green, hidden by trees in the left corner ! Two more doglegs follow, the par-4 13th (to the right), uphill all the way, with another steeply-elevated green, and the par-4 14th, downhill all the way, with a fairway close to the cliffs on the left, midway, before facing the beautiful par-3 15th hole, with a blind and steeply-downhill tee shot landing onto an undulating fairway, with a big slope around and the river right behind. The par-5 16th hole is uphill all the way, with a multi-tiered fairway (quite narrow halfway, with a bunker on both sides) and a blind second shot toward the elevated green (with a big bunker in front), followed by the right dogleg par-4 17th, with a downhill tee shot landing near elongated bunkers on both sides of the fairway and a nice approach to the steeply-downhill green, with a puzzle-shaped bunker in front. One last challenge awaits you on the right dogleg par-5 18th hole, with a downhill tee shot and a long (and risky) second shot toward the elevated green, hard to reach on your second shot as it is hidden by trees in the right corner with a river flowing across in front ! Needless to say, on this Valley course, designed by M.G.A. Hover, you can forget about finishing with a low score, as you will need to hit pretty accurate approaches to the greens (often steeply-uphill and quite treacherous with their slopes and... bouncing balls !) in order to get a few birdie opportunities...

I rated this course "nice job" and it certainly is. But you need to be a world star putter to manage these greens. Bouncing balls and never-stop-rolling balls.....Oefff.....

jimi - I have my compatibility settings as, Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and Run this program as an administrator. To get to the correct box to set this, right click on desktop start icon, select properties, then compatibility. My apologies if you have already tried this.

B.t.w. if somebody could post some screenshots, I'd be most grateful. I never got to see the finished course myself.

When I try to start any of the TW games I get the message that I should update to Windows 98, so apparently it thinks that since my latest update I';m running an older version. I am not cybersavvy enough to solve that problem, I'm afraid.

jimi, love your courses but not too keen on the cb on fairways and greens. I was sorry to hear that your having troubles with your pc. I'm running windows 10 with all the latest updates and have not had a problem. What operating system are you running? I would hate to see you stop designing just because of a glitch. Best of Luck!

Jimi......all I can say is WOW. Tremendous layout on this course. Really makes shot placement a key here. I would have loved to seen this course with your old jimi fast greens texture for the greens. Once again though, you stand at the top of the fantasy course designers of this game. Hope you can figure out the issue with your computer, so you can keep designing.
