A tough course with tree-lined fairways, sometimes narrow, plenty of water hazards, and where you better be hitting precise shots off the tees if you don't want to end up in big trouble on your second and/or approach shots to the greens, often guarded by deep bunkers. The par-4 1st hole, with its S-shaped rollercoaster fairway and a big pond on the left near the green, will test you right off the bat, just like on the long par-5 4th hole, slightly to the right and quite nice with a big pond and flowers in front of the tee box and a small creek near the green. The par-3 5th hole is pretty and tough with two big rocks with flowers in the middle of the fairway and a tiny pond, very close to the small green on the left side. I also like the right dogleg par-4 7th hole, with a big lake in front then "hugging" the fairway on the left side, and where you will have a very tough second shot over trees in the corner to reach the green. As for the long and left dogleg par-5 9th hole, with a lake on the left side, and a slightly-elevated green, you can forget about scoring an eagle... On the back 9, I like the right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with a lake on the right side and across the fairway, and the "cute" par-3 12th hole, with flowers in front of the tee box and two big bunkers near the tiny green. The left dogleg par-4 13th hole has a green, quite tough to reach with a couple of high trees in front and a pond on the right side, whereas the right dogleg par-4 14th hole has a wide-open look with a lake on the right and across the fairway. Finally, after the right dogleg par-4 17th hole, nice with its narrow fairway, trees in the corner and a lake on the right side (with an elevated green), you will reach the right dogleg par-5 18th, similar to the 17th hole, but with a meandering lake and a very tough approach shot to the green as trees and water are in the way... For his second course, Old Pucker did a very good job, alternating nice holes with difficult ones and where par-5s are really tough. If the scenery is not spectacular, this par 72 will make you pay dearly if you hit errant shots and, once in a while, it is nice to have such a challenge...

Keith, a very enjoyable design. Welcome to the pantheon of excellent course designers, and in very elite company I might add. While I don't usually like 'fantasy courses' this one is an exception to my rule. Very nice work, looking forward to what you have in store for us next.

Well Keith---I read all the other comments before I decided to write mine. Everyone has pretty much hit it right on the nose. For a new guy designing courses and this being only your second---you are definitely creating a problem for yourself: that being improvement on your future courses because your first two are exceptionally well done. The only thing I can say is---please, please, please don't make us wait too long for the next one and the next one and the one after that. Do you get the hint?---MDM3673

Gr8 course Keith, keep them coming buddy.

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.
No course in the works: retired. |

It's hard to believe that his is only your second course! You set the bar so high on the first one that I'd have to call this your "1B" to your "1A"! Calls for some strategic position on some drives and approach shots. 5 stars for sure!

Enjoyed the course. Played like a real one. I like how you used the water. Thank you for taking the time to make this course for us, Old Pucker.

Very nice course. Not 'real', but very realistic, and with real par 5's.
