For those familiar with rlslay’s designs, you will be very surprised to discover this... links-style course, with a nice hilly panorama and plenty of doglegs with some strategically-placed pot bunkers and gorse bushes on both sides of the wide (and undulating) fairways. The first two par-4 holes are straight, with the 2nd being my favorite, with an approach shot flying over a meandering creek twice, whereas, on the par-4 3rd hole, the creek zigzags from the front of the tee from the right to the left, then across in front of the green (and past), requiring two shots over it to reach the green. The par-5 4th hole is a right dogleg with deep rough, splitting the fairway halfway and is followed by mostly straight and slightly-downhill holes, with my favorite being the par-4 6th, with a little creek running across in front of the green. On the back 9, I like the left dogleg par-4 12th hole, with a slightly-downhill tee shot over a meandering creek, a wide lake on the right side and an undulating fairway, and the par-5 13th, with a very undulating fairway, along the wide lake on the far right, and a delicate third shot to the green, slightly to the left with four small pot bunkers in front. The last three holes are also very nice : the par-4 16th is a scenic right dogleg, with a tee shot over a dry riverbed partially across the fairway, and a wide lake on the left all along, the par-4 17th hole is straight, with an undulating fairway parallel to the lake on the left, and the right dogleg par-4 18th has a slanted fairway and needs an uphill shot over a small creek (and a little bridge) to reach the elevated green, with three pot bunkers around and a beautiful “SeaOaks” clubhouse (hotel ?) behind ! With this par 72, rlslay took a break from designing tropical courses but the end result is another gorgeous and realistic layout, well-designed, fun to play and... to keep, as usual !

Verrrrryyy pretty course, man. Extremely realistic links experience. This is why this site needs more than just 2 categories for courses. I would tag this one "realistic". Well, well done!

Great course Rob. Has that links feel and plays suberbly. Pano fits in well with the course design. Good job buddy.

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.
No course in the works: retired. |

What a surprise..... another sensational design by the "Rembrandt" of TW08 Course designs. This one will stay in my personal 'rota' for a long time.
