After playing on a lot of courses with nice plantings, this courses provides a nice change of scenery with a panorama blending in very well with the mostly bare environment, made up of a few houses built near ponds and lakes.
On the front 9, I like the par-3 3rd hole with its flag close to the lake on the left side. The next 3 holes require power, precision and finesse : power, with the long par-5 4th (638 yards from the pro tee), with the lake on the left side, precision, with the par-3 5th, with its scenic view and, finesse, on the approach shot to the green on the par-4 6th, a dogleg to the left with a creek running across the fairway. The next two holes (7th, 8th) require downhill shots and have plenty of bunkers on both sides of the fairway.
The back 9 has a lot of slightly downhill tee shots such as on the par-5 11th hole, with plenty of bunkers all over the fairway and near the green, whereas on the par-4 12th, you have to be careful about the large pond on the right side of the green. After the 13th hole, a nice surprise awaits you with the beautiful par-3 14th hole, which seems to be out of place with its trees near the tee box and in the landscape around the green !
The most beautiful hole is the par-3 17th with its downhill tee shot over the large pond and its nice view as you reach the green.
This par-72 is a nice course and you will enjoy your round even though it is not the most spectacular from South Africa...
