"Big disappointment" as I was looking forward to use my bucket and spade (LOL !) but, incredibly, I managed to avoid the "ton" on very wide bunkers, spread all over this gorgeous course. In fact, I have not seen that much sand, except in the desert ! This par-70 is simply one of its kind and a definite masterpiece recreated by the CGX design team. All holes are spectacular but a few stand out for me : the par-4 1st and 2nd, two doglegs (left and right) with downhill tee shots on the 1st and sloped fairway on the 2nd, the par-4 5th with all those bunkers on the right of the fairway and a tough approach shot over the trees, the par-4 7th, a sharp dogleg to the right forcing you to hit a very long shot to the green and the nice view of the par-3 8th with water in front. The back 9 has some nice holes too : the par-4 11th and 12th with all those bunkers in the middle of the two fairways, the beautiful par-3 17th hole and the gorgeous par-4 18th with all these puzzle-shaped bunkers not far from the green. At first, the two-color fairways give you an impression of being narrow but, once you realize it is not the case, you can concentrate on choosing the right club... and with a little bit of luck, you won't have to use your... bucket and spade to get out of these nicely-designed bunkers from the CGX team !

Brilliant design. This course really is as hard as they say and it's a huge credit to the CGX guys that they infused all that difficulty here whilst still making it so enjoyable. Good driving is imperative - you won't have a chance for birdies (nor often par) without it. It's a killer course and a supreme challenge, love it. Cheers!

Hiya mdwood, the designers upgraded the course PGAX 2009 Bethpage to CGX Bethpage Black Course 2016, so it is the same course with some upgrades. Both courses have the same Guid number, so you can only have one of both courses installed.

Nice course but not sure why it forced me to uninstall the PGAX 2009 Bethpage?
