With its beautiful countryside panorama blending in very well with the landscape, this par 71 is quite challenging with a lot of dogleg holes, blind tee shots and quite a few uphill/downhill shots everywhere else ! The front 9 is not as tough as the back 9 but it has some interesting holes, such as the sharp dogleg to the left par-4 3rd, with the fairway hidden by trees as you tee off, or the slightly uphill dogleg to the right par-4 4th. The par-5 7th hole is quite scenic with its beautiful downhill view of the countryside and its undulated fairway, whereas the dogleg to the right par-4 8th requires an uphill tee shot. The back 9 alternates uphill and downhill tee shots. After the "easy" par-3 11th hole, with its blind tee shot and elevated green, you will face two par-5 in a row : the dogleg to the right par-5 12th hole, with bunkers guarding both sides of the green, and the slightly downhill to the left 13th hole, with its undulated fairway and beautiful countryside. The last three holes are pretty nice too : the par-4 16th with its nice view from the tee box, the par-4 17th, with its sharp uphill tee shot and downhill green, and the dogleg to the left par-4 18th, with its nice view of the clubhouse. Overall, this course is a great course to keep, with its beautiful plantings, elevated terrain and very nice bunkers, thanks to the nice job done by TeeOffTowersey.

Absolutely beautiful. Wonderful undulating fairways and tricky dog-legs. More difficult than it appears at first glance.

Excellent course Tee. Playing it you could almost feel the care and attention that had gone into making it. The pano is such a good fit that at times I thought it was a photo. Well done indeed.

Thanks for the comments guys. Oulton Hall has two courses, the other "The Hall", is a 9 hole course which was laid on the same CA plot. This is being finished and after testing will be released probably next week. Being 9 hole, it will be released as an 18 hole (being played twice), but the back 9 will have different pin positions from the outward 9.

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.
No course in the works: retired. |
