Well, I loved Sotogrande so much that I decided to stay a little longer by playing at Valderrama, minutes after finishing playing at La Reserva de Sotogrande ! Needless to say, I did not regret my decision : just like the previous course from the CGX Team, this par-71 is awesome, albeit quite different. With a lush environment and very narrow fairways, such as on the par-4 1st hole, you will need very accurate tee shots to avoid landing in the high rough or in all of these wide bunkers spread everywhere on the course. With nice plantings, the scenery is beautiful (only "spoiled" sometimes by those sponsors' billboards) and the course is a pure delight to play and watch. Just like at La Reserva de Sotogrande, there are plenty of gorgeous and, sometimes, tougher holes. Besides the 1st, I like the dogleg to the right par-4 2nd and its... tree, right in the middle of the fairway, the par-5 4th hole with its rocky edge around the water near the green. But the most scenic hole is the par-3 6th, simply gorgeous with all these bunkers guarding the green. The par-4 8th hole is nice too. Starting from the par-4 10th hole all the way to the par-4 14th, you will be faced with all kinds of challenging shots and beautiful views. And the par-5 17th hole is gorgeous too with its approach shot to the green, surrounded by water. Once again, belated congratulations to the CGX Team who designed another top shelf course !

Stunning design. I played this course many times back in the Links days and I could still remember a lot of it - this is a really great rendition. It's an absolute ripper course - a relentless challenge, full of variety and very entertaining all the way. Loved it, cheers!

I imagined I played this beauty together with Miquel Angel Jimnez (he with a big cigar and a nice glass of Andalucian wine and I with my favourite Belgian Tripel in hand) I this way we were a bit handicapped, so many trees turned out to be higher than they seemed to be, but the course and the surroundings are awesome (the trade mark of the CGX team). Thank you gentlemen!
