Welcome to “Waterworld” ! No, you won’t meet Kevin Costner on this gorgeous par 71 course, but you will face, instead, plenty of water holes with peninsula fairways and/or greens with some very challenging approaches, where you will have to think twice before hitting your shots. The straight but spectacular opening par-4 hole is one perfect example, as you will need to hit two shots over a wide lake to reach the green. The straight par-4 2nd hole, on another hand, offers a different challenge with a very risky tee shot over the lake midway, landing near a lone tree (on the edge) and a bunker on the left of the fairway, leaving you with a blind second shot to the green. After the waterless par-3 3rd hole, with a couple of trees in front of the green, you will face the scenic dogleg par-4 4th, with a tee shot over a wide lake and a green, sharply to the left, before moving on to the beautiful and short (less than 490 yards) left dogleg par-5 5th hole, where your tee shot will fly over a winding fairway (along the lake on the left), and land onto a peninsula, before you can aim for the green with another shot over the water... On the gorgeous par-3 6th hole, you will hold your breath seeing your tee shot sail over the wide lake and, hopefully, land onto its small green (surrounded by lush vegetation), before facing the short (about 315 yards) left dogleg par-4 7th where, with plenty of trees on the left side of the lake, you will have to “settle” for a straight tee shot over it, landing near a couple of trees and bunkers (in the corner), before aiming for the green. Then, after the straight par-4 8th hole, slightly-downhill, you will move on to the left dogleg par-4 9th where, after hitting a straight tee shot between a few trees (with wide branches) landing in front of the lake, you will face a tough approach to the green, framed in front by a couple of trees, with a big elongated bunker on the right, on the edge of the lake. The back 9 starts with the nice right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with a slightly-downhill tee shot over the lake, and continues with the pretty and tough par-3 11th, with a tee shot over the lake, and a lone tree (in the middle of a bunker), on the left of the green, near the flag. After the straight and slightly-downhill par-4 12th hole, with scattered bunkers midway and a small lake on the far right, the left dogleg par-4 13th awaits you with a narrow fairway (with a few trees and bunkers near the corner) and a blind approach shot over tall trees to reach the green. If you will see that wide lake again on the right dogleg par-4 14th hole, with a slightly-uphill tee shot landing near the water (on the left), and a green, very close to it, with three bunkers around, the short (about 460 yards) left dogleg par-5 15th will take your breath away, with a slightly-downhill and straight tee shot and a very long approach over the narrow peninsula fairway toward the green, set at the tip, with two bunkers in front ! The beautiful par-3 16th hole is no pushover either, with a tee shot over the lake landing onto a peninsula green, with two small bunkers on the left, and is followed (after the par-4 17th, with a slightly-undulated fairway and a green, slightly to the right), by the very pretty and challenging right dogleg par-5 18th, with a winding fairway ending as a peninsula, and a long second shot over the lake toward the green, with a few firs on the right. Fe Bon Lake Resort GC is another superb course from rlslay, combining beauty and toughness, and you will definitely enjoy this masterpiece !

Wow, this is a beauty. Not a grip and rip flag hunting fest. This course forces you to think about shot placement off the tee and offers a number of 2nd shot decisions and challenges. Great job!

Excellent design, beautiful setting. Great job. Real tough, somehow scratched up -1 on advanced true-swing with no grids.

Well, Mr.Rislay, when I look back at all the courses you made: they are all splendid, awesome, great, without exception. And so is this one. How do you do that? Tell me your secret... (5 stars rating, of course)

Hi Rislay----Another great course from one of the masters of this web site. I apologize for not commenting on your courses before this but I have a short memory and while I intend to make some comments I usually forget to do it after I play the course but today is different. I truly enjoyed every aspect of this course. It is easy on the eyes and it has challenge in it. I have to admit to preferring fantasy courses to MOST BUT NOT ALL real courses because in general they are usually more difficult and I like 'em tough. I know the greens can make the course difficult all by themselves but this course was very fair and rewarded good shots with great pin position. The pano is great---in all very well done. PLEASE keep 'em coming----MDM3673

I don't normally comment on fantasy courses, but this has got to be mentioned. Just fantastic imagination used here. The textures blend pefectly as does the pano. The elevations are as joy to behold. A testing yet fair course. Well done Rislay, keep up the good work.

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.
No course in the works: retired. |

Enjoyed playing this course and it would be fun to play it for real. I thought it maybe graphic heavy but for me it wasn't at all. Played smooth. Nice layout. Thanks rlslay for sharing this golf course !!
