With the same beautiful snow-capped mountains as a panorama as the Catalunya Stadium course, this (real) par 71 is also nice with, again, a back 9 more scenic and more challenging with water coming into play on quite a few holes. You will start your round with a steep downhill tee shot on the left dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a nice serpentine path and a beautiful panoramic view before trying to reach the elevated green, then continue on with the short (about 350 yards) right dogleg par-4 3d hole, where you can cut the corner by hitting your tee shot over trees before seeing the flag, not far away, with a small pond on the right side. Another nice hole, albeit not too difficult, is the dogleg par-4 8th, with its downhill tee shot and an uphill approach shot to the green, slightly to the right. On the back 9, one of my favorite holes is the short (about 350 yards) and gorgeous dogleg par-4 12th, with a wide lake in front (and to the right), five small bunkers on the left and trees in the right corner, hiding the green. Two other nice holes are the dogleg par-4 15th, with a big lake on the right side, and the par-3 16th, with a tee shot over the lake and a scenic overall view as you reach the green, partially surrounded by trees. Finally, the right dogleg par-4 17th hole is interesting too, with its downhill tee shot (with a lone tree standing right in the middle of the nice tree-lined fairway), and its elevated green. Yet, even though this Tour course is well designed, as usual, by the CGX team, and has fans “cheering me on” (unlike on the Stadium), I noticed two little displaying bugs (big grainy patches between the horizon and the plot on the 14th and 15th holes) which “spoiled” my good impression, leaving me with a tough choice as to which course I prefer…

A beaut CGX design and an interesting and enjoyable course. Not a patch on the Stadium course (big shoes those!) but a great little sibling and certainly no stroll. The back 9 was the better - more challenging and the architecture more creative overall. Holes 11 and 13 were terrific. And I thought the 3rd hole was the best on the front, a gem. A very pleasant and varied course with some quality holes, loads of fun to play and the design is typically top-notch. Cheers!
