maybe it's because i am playing with tw07, but i found this course, not "as good" as whiskey creek or penn park : then again, bullpupp2 set such high standards that it would be a great course any other time ! as its name indicates, this par 72 is quite pleasant : with plenty of elevation changes, lots of pot bunkers (especially near the greens) and some water hazards, it is also quite challenging, starting with the nice par-4 1st hole, and its twisted fairway, sand dunes and high rough (but i found this ocean too dark). instead, i prefer the par-5 2nd hole, very scenic with the road on the left side, the lighthouse on the right and high-rise apartments as a backdrop, and the very different (but picturesque) par-3 3rd hole, with deep rough mounds, bunkers and the road behind. after the short par-4 5th hole, quite tough with a pond on the right side and pot bunkers on both sides of the green, my favorite hole is the par-4 6th, very pretty with a lone tree right in front of the tee box (a mistake, according to bullpupp2 !), and a meandering creek flowing all the way to the front of the elevated green (by the way, be careful as you hit your tee shot as a... crocodile is resting in the creek !). the back 9 starts with the right dogleg par-5 10th hole, with an uphill tee shot and follows with a long approach shot to the green (guarded by a pot bunker), with cliffs surrounding a deep lake on the right side. if the 10th hole is pretty, the par-3 11th hole, however, is quite scary and a little bit... unreal, as you will need to hit a big tee shot over the lake to reach the small green, set a little below the cliff. choosing the right club to land on the green is quite tough, but the hardest part is trying to retrieve your ball after : how do you do it ? after coming back the other way on the par-4 12th hole, with an uphill tee shot over the lake and an uphill approach shot to the green, you will reach the scenic left dogleg par-4 13th hole, with plenty of gorse bushes, before finishing with the par-3 15th, very picturesque with a big lake in front (and a nice retaining wall around it) and... another crocodile, resting in the reed, just like on the par-5 18th hole, where the sights of buildings and the road on the left side are prettier than the last (?) crocodile in the lake on the right side... well designed as usual by bullpupp2, with some nice plantings, this course is a little more on the fantasy side than his other two courses mentioned above, and this is why (along with a displaying bug on the 12th hole with the horizon moving up and down - a tw07 bug ?), i am sticking with my first impression...

Actually that tree by the Tee on six was a mistake I missed LOL

Glad I read Bill's earlier comment before venturing out. A lot of my tee shots were with the 3-wood, especially after seeing my opponents bite the sand on those early holes. Most interesting tee is the 6th, where the nearby tree really makes you plan your shot very carefully because of the other hazards out there. Great layout, Bill...

Thanks for the comments. Anyone who has played my courses before know that they are tough but fair. I try to sucker players into taking a driver and find a hazard. If the wind is not right lay up instead of taking on that perfect shot. Its all about risk/reward. My mates and I play Expert and very dry with winds from breazy to strong and enjoy the challenge. I hope enough of you do too.

I haven't played it yet but usually BULLPUPP2, your courses are too hard for me and looking at one of the photos in the photo gallery I wonder if I will even be able to hit the green, period. LOL! I will probably play it tomorrow. I will come back in and let you know how I did. I hope the caddie works well.

Just played this one, it is a challenge for sure. Club selection is crucial on most holes to stay out of trouble, but thats actually whats fun about this course. It makes you think. Great job Bullpupp!!!

What can I say Bullpupp? This is an amazing course and I thoroughly enjoed playing all 18 holes of it. Beautiful to look at---challenging but fair tp play. The bunkers reminded me of the Old Course @ St. Andrews. Keep em coming---MDM3673

A fantasy course made with a bit too much fantasy. Too many bunkers (even the Scottish courses, well know by their many bunkers, cannot match this one) and those terrible ugly (2x) appartments, cause my a headache. But Bullpupp=Bullpupp, so the are also many elements to admire. After all: not his best design (sorry)
