Pleasant to play, with its city skyline far away, this par 72 has plenty of doglegs, with tree-lined (and sometimes narrow) fairways, and quite a few undulating greens, whose lines are hard to read. On the front 9, I like the right dogleg par-5 2nd hole, whose slanted fairway is along a lake on the far left, the par-3 4th, with its downhill tee shot over some rough and a couple of rocks (behind and to the right of the green), the left dogleg par-4 7th, with another big rock in the corner (on the left) and a wide lake (on the right) and with its elevated green, and the left dogleg par-5 9th hole, with a blind approach to the green, next to a lake on the right, and a big clubhouse (with tables and beach umbrellas) behind. The back 9 is a little bit more challenging, starting with the right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with its narrow fairway and undulating green, and the left dogleg par-4 11th, with a tee shot over the lake, landing onto a narrow tree-lined fairway, and with a few trees on both sides, not too far from the green, making your approach a little bit tricky. On the right dogleg par-5 14th hole, you might get an eagle opportunity if you can avoid landing your approach in the bunker, set in front of the slightly-elevated green, before moving on to the nice par-3 17th, with a big lake behind the green, and finishing with the right dogleg par-5 18th hole where, despite a slanted fairway, you should be able to reach the green on your second shot for one last eagle chance. Overall, if this Blue Hills Country Club plays smoothly and is nicely designed, I am not too fond of the texture used for the paths and the color of the rocks (mentioned by tripel43 in his comments), preferring, instead, the similar but nicer Rolling Greens G.C.B. course where I just played yesterday...

A great course with a very nice, classic-style layout. It's visually-appealing, plays smoothly and offers a fun and decent challenge - loads to like here. An excellent design with plenty of character, cheers!

Hi Ken---This is a great course as usual. You always make it a challenge to play your courses and this one is no exception. It's well laid out and very pleasing to the eye. It's getting difficult to keep track of your aliases though---lol. MDM3673

A new name (?) in the TW'08 designers world, and, if this is the first attempt, it's (in my opinion)a very succesful one. Nice course; the laying of the trees makes it interesting and overall, it looks very nice (maybe except the ochre brown rocks, that appear everywhere). My compliments Yougolf4!
