This magnificent links course set amidst rolling hills, with nice fences along some fairways, a lone wooden cabin as the "center of attraction", surrounded by a few trees, and a gorgeous mansion, could be a gem... except for the big grainy gap between the panorama and the plot, visible on a few holes (1st on the left side, 10th and 15th on the right). That "displaying bug" aside, this par 72 has everything you can "ask" for on a links course : undulated fairways, high rough, a few deep bunkers and a couple of tricky greens with little slopes. My favorite holes on the front 9 are the right dogleg par-5 2nd, quite hilly, the par-4 3rd, with its gorgeous view of the mansion near the green, the par-3 5th, slightly downhill, with nice fences on the right side of the fairway, and the right dogleg par-5 9th hole, quite scenic with its rollercoaster fairway and fences on the right side. The back 9 has some nice holes too : the right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with an elevated green and the right dogleg par-5 11th, with its undulated and downhill fairway and that nice view of the small hut above the green. Other holes that stand out are the scenic par-4 14th, with its green at the foot of a big hill, the downhill right dogleg par-4 15th, with a blind approach shot to the green, and the left dogleg par-5 18th hole, with a small hill along the right side of the fairway and a beautiful approach shot to reach the green and the mansion behind. Very well designed by Herschel Dirtwater, this course, with its beautiful scenery and challenging holes, is a definite keeper if you like links-style courses !

This course is one of the best ever made for the PC! 5/5. I never use a driver in 08. I find the 3 wood makes for a better golf simulation. This course requires course management for every shot. Mental mistakes will cost you big time. You will find difficult pins rather silly and unrealistic, but the course presents a great challenge at easy pin setup.
Eventually, I plan on breaking par here at Royal New Arlington. Fast greens, calm wind, and easy pins still makes this course one of the most difficult.
Beautiful and scenic course. The course is well thought out and quite remarkable! Did I say this course is awesome!
Thanks and all the best!

I think one of your best Mr.Dirtwater. Looking very Scottish (Highlands)and those courses (like Troon, Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, Turnberry, St.Andrews, Loch Lomond) are my favourits. Nice details, and a rather tough course too. I'm your fan. Greetings from the flat Dutch "polder" Tripel43

Very tough greens and rolling fairways. Very natural like a real course, but a little bit more beautiful than real thing. Everything is extreme, but not too much. I like it very much.
