Is it still possible to be flabbergasted by another one of rlslay’s courses ? The answer is a big “YES”, as you will find out right off the bat on the left dogleg par-4 1st hole, when you will see the gorgeous Sydney skyline facing the tee box, not to mention the luxurious and abundant vegetation all around, one of rlslay’s trademarks...
If you are not convinced yet, clicking on the “Find the flag” option on the right dogleg par-4 2nd hole will unveil, on the right, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, looking more real than ever, as you get closer to them with your approach shot to the green !
You will see those two again facing the tee box on the left dogleg par-4 4th hole before moving on to the long (more than 610 yards) left dogleg par-5 5th, with two bunkers to avoid in the middle of the fairway, halfway, and three more guarding the green, in front.
On the left dogleg par-4 6th hole, you will be able to cut the corner by hitting your tee shot over deep rough and plenty of bushes, before aiming your second shot, slightly uphill to the green, next to the big clubhouse on the left, and moving on to the par-3 7th, uphill to the green, with a nice panoramic view of the course behind.
With the city skyline facing you, you will need to hit your tee shot over a few bushes on the right dogleg par-4 8th hole as it will (hopefully) land onto the wide and undulating fairway, unlike on the long (more than 610 yards again) right dogleg par-5 9th where, with a small bunker in the middle, halfway (and more on both sides), and a blind second shot over more vegetation, you will be happy to putt for a birdie after your gorgeous short approach to the green, with the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge behind !
The back 9 starts with the left dogleg par-4 10th hole, with its wide fairway hugging a big creek all the way on the right ending into a small lake on the right of the green, and continues with the par-4 11th with an undulating fairway and quite a few bunkers midway.
Unlike the other par-3 holes on the front 9, the par-3 12th hole is quite scenic, simply because it is facing (slightly to the right) the Opera House and Harbor Bridge...
Then, after the easy par-4 13th hole, you will face the last par-5 on this course, the left dogleg 14th, shorter than the other par-5s, with an elongated lake to watch for on the left of the fairway, halfway, and a slightly-elevated green, before heading for the right dogleg par-4 15th hole, again with an elongated lake on the left (and a small bunker in the middle of the fairway) and a slightly-uphill approach to the green, with that big clubhouse behind and the city skyline further back.
As you reach the par-4 16th hole, you will have to make a tough decision, club-wise, if you want to try to reach the slightly-elevated green (slightly to the left), as it is only about 325 yards away from the tee box (but with a few wide bunkers in front), unlike on the short (about 140 yards) par-3 17th, easier to reach.
As for the left dogleg par-4 18th hole, “filled” with plenty of bunkers in the middle (and on the sides) of the fairway, you will need to hit a precise and slightly-downhill tee shot to avoid them before aiming your last shot to the green, guarded by more bunkers, while enjoying (one last time) the views of the city skyline in front and the clubhouse on the left...
Needless to say, rlslay came up with another masterpiece showing, once again, that no matter what continent you will be playing on (his European, American and/or Australian links courses), you will always spend more time gazing at the gorgeous scenery, thanks to his incredible designing talent for details and his vivid imagination !

Knowing the harbour so well after countless ferry trips over the years, it seems like Rob created an island smack bang in the middle of Port Jackson (roughly where Fort Denison is, for those in the know) and fashioned an ultra-exclusive golf course over the whole thing. I say that because of the perspective of the bridge being almost full face on & the water between the course & land left of the Opera House appearing like a river, not a wide harbour - PLUS the proximity of the buildings. That’s certainly not knocking it – it would actually be a fabulous concept! "Beautiful effort - doesn't get much better than that" - we Sydneysiders will start petitioning the powers that be right now. Rob, be ready for the call once we submit your design...

Agree that the Pano is the best by far..not bias that it is of the best harbour city in the world..the track itself is right up there with the best we have seen on this site except for those darn bunkers in the middle of the fairways (joke)..well done & thanks for sharing..

I want to thank each of you for downloading my course and taking the time to return to leave a comment. Hey Chris, yes on hole 9, the second shot, RH side, out past the heavy planted deep rough there are some trees that helps make it difficult to cut across the dogleg. Try a lower setting just to bring into view and know where they are. I think, sometimes, not every computer can render all the objects on my courses. Thanks again....Rob

Fantastic course! The Sydney backdrop pano is one of the best I've seen here. Also love the lush foliage. Looks fantastic at 1920x1080.
Thanks for all the hard work that goes into making these courses.

It really is an excellent course and well done.

One downside though - Hole 9 - there are apparently 3 trees on the r/h side of the second shot that we couldn't see - I managed to miss them, but the other 2 players hit them and went in the rough. They conceded but this left one player still looking at the other, whilst we'd already gone to the next tee. We had to restart from the 10th. Is there anything that can be done for "missing" trees?

rlslay, thanks for a beautiful course, great Sydney background and unbelievable planting, plays very smoothly on my 3 year old laptop with ATI Radeon HD 4650, as a newbie to this game I appreciate the time & effort that all the course developers spend creating & sharing their masterpieces, I am off to check out rlslays previous creations...

Another great course Risley with the added attraction of having the iconic harbour bridge and the also iconic opera house in the background. Many thanks for the many hours of toil it must have taken to produce this course.
