Wow, a beauty of a track, postcard-perfect all the way (awesome pano) and with Jimbo at the wheel this is a sweet ride. Love the layout, it's testing yet rewarding, plenty of variety - the back 9 for me the winner by a smidge, though the 6th is a ripper hole. A delight to play, "this is golf", cheers!

Does the X of Xanadu stand for "Xcellent" or "Xtraordinary" ? This par 72 is simply awesome with, maybe, one of the most gorgeous ocean panoramas you will ever see (superb color) and with cliffs looking more real than ever ! This Xanadu Island course is pure "Xtasy" visually, and it is very hard to concentrate with such breathtaking downhill views, especially on the front 9, as you will see right off the bat when teeing off from the gorgeous par-4 1st hole. AS you get ready for the steep downhill par-4 2nd hole, you might suspect Jimbo63 of being quite fond of sailing as you will see a yacht, an old ship, some small sailing boats racing, and a lighthouse on the left side standing on visually-stunning cliffs. The downhill par-4 3rd hole where, with a little luck, you might reach the green from the tee box, is very pretty too, with its sloped fairway and the view of a small village, facing the tee way back. If the downhill par-5 4th hole is similar to the 1st hole, but with a dogleg to the right, the par-3 5th hole is simply gorgeous all around with the Atlanta skyline (as mentioned by Jimbo63), sailing boats and a big cruise ship, not to mention the lighthouse... I also like the downhill par-5 8th hole, quite scenic too, with the view of the village in front and nice lego-shaped bunkers, just like the par-4 9th hole, with the village in front and an old castle on the right. The back 9 is flatter on the first few holes, starting with the straightforward par-5 10th, with the castle facing the tee box (and a very narrow fairway) and continues with the par-4 13th hole, bending slightly downhill to the left, with beautiful bunkers too. The last few holes have downhill slopes again with the left dogleg par-4 16th, having a stunning view of the ocean and the cliffs, and the par-5 18th hole, slightly going left with a big cruise ship behind the green. Needless to say, this links-style course is a masterpiece with its beautiful plantings too (plenty of gorse and bushes), its wide and lego-shaped bunkers and its great elevation work. In fact, once you have finished your round, you are dying to go back and start all over : that's how good Jimbo63's course is !

Sorry Jimbo that I only just now played your fantastic course. The ship in the bay may be a little overdone, but that's my only complaint. Thank you very much!

The Legend Of Xanadu is finally here - not a bad old song but a great new course. Love the wide open feel, along with the extra value on those downhill tee shots. I realise the pano has to be a still shot, but a little animation in the water texture would have really set it off - like those small water features in Yarra Creek. So the Legend continues, Jimbo - but where to from here, now you've completed the alphabet?

Inexpert comment here. I experienced what I like: wide open spaces; ocean views; mountains/hills; shooting down to the greens. Loved it! Oops! Forgot to enable life systems.

Must have rustlers in your part of the UK . . . LOL. They are a special breed of quiet sheep, to ensure that you do not get distracted when playing a round. Try setting the Course Life System to auto. Mine is set at this and I see hundreds.

Thanks oldman959 and PhilT, glad you enjoyed it. The pano is a combination of 3 background pics, with castle, lighthouse, stately home, Atlanta skyline and various ships/boats added afterwards and all put together in Photoshop.

Just another small point if the course life file i.e. sheep is not to your personal taste, just open up a course file that has a cls file that you like, copy it and replace the one in the Xanadu course file

Thanks cello. PhilT. It is a big island to keep neat, so the sheep are there to save me a lot of grass cutting, especially the rough. Just make sure you wear your wellies when playing the course . . . LOL

Cello Jimbo, have not played this one yet will play this later today, but the sheep? there was another course with sheep going back in the past, but looking at the screenshots, the ships etc out on the sea, thats new! I often wondered why no one included that on coastal courses, looking forward to playing this.
