With a beautiful bay, seen at low tide, and small boats anchored all around, this panorama is simply gorgeous and blends in very well with all the pretty vegetation, making this par 72 not only stunning visually but also pretty challenging with doglegs, slight elevation changes, undulating and/or slanted fairways, along with quite a few water hazards. You will start your round with three right dogleg par-4 holes : the opening one is very pretty, with trees lined up on the right, partially hiding the fairway, halfway in the corner, and a winding creek flowing on the far right of the green (and behind), just like the 2nd, downhill all the way, with a tee shot over deep rough and a small pond (on the left), and a blind shot to the green, and the 3rd, with another downhill tee shot over deep rough (and more trees lined up on the right), but with an uphill approach to the green. The par-3 4th hole is nice too, with plenty of trees all along on the left side and a nice panoramic view as you reach its green, and is followed by two par-5 holes, the 5th, with a tee shot landing onto a slanted, narrow and undulating fairway (with a creek all along on the left), near some deep rough splitting it across, and a long approach toward the green (with more deep rough in front of it), and the 6th, a right dogleg, downhill to the green, with a tee shot over the creek flowing in front, and more deep rough a little bit further. As you stand on the tee box of the right dogleg par-4 7th hole, you will see two fairways, divided by trees in the middle, before hitting your uphill tee shot over deep rough (to the right), and another uphill approach to the green, before moving on to the scenic par-3 8th, with a tee shot over a big elongated pond near the tee box, and the straight and downhill par-4 9th hole, with a tee shot over deep rough and more trees on the left and a serpentine creek flowing around and behind the green. The picturesque par-5 10th hole goes back the other way, with a tee shot over that creek (ending as a small lake on the right), plenty of rough and a narrow fairway, and a slightly-downhill approach to the green, guarded by three bunkers, and the left dogleg par-4 11th, where you will have to hit a blind tee shot over some trees in the corner to reach its undulating fairway. If the par-3 12th hole is nice with a tee shot flying over plenty of bushes and deep rough on the way to the green, the par-4 13th, slightly uphill all the way (with a small elongated pond on the left, not far from the green) is not too difficult, unlike the par-4 14th hole, quite pretty with its two-fairway view again and a tee shot to the right over bushes, deep rough, landing onto a narrow fairway. Then, after the straight par-4 15th hole, with a tee shot over a small elongated pond in front of the tee box, and an undulating fairway leading to the green, you will move on to the gorgeous and quite challenging par-3 16th, with a downward tee shot to the green, guarded by a big elongated bunker in front (and to the left), and the short (around 360 yards) and slightly-downhill par-4 17th hole, with bushes splitting the narrow fairway across, two-thirds of the way. And to top it all, the very scenic right dogleg par-5 18th hole, slightly downhill and with a tee shot over a creek, will offer you an eagle opportunity if you can avoid bushes in front of its small green, set next to a big parking lot and a nice building, on the right. Once again, Jimbo63 designed another superb course with this Yarra Creek Golf Club, where you will spend more time gazing at the scenery than playing, but where you will also need to concentrate all the way to avoid the trees and water hazards, cleverly spread along the way.

Great to see another Jimbo track set in Oz, this time (I presume) in a Victorian coastal town - and once again he has nailed it! A sublime design, visually stunning, everything blends in well, capped off with perfect audio (crows, magpies, insects etc). The layout is pretty straightforward but due to the terrain work, clever plantings and bunkering, every hole feels distinct. The greens too are superbly designed - great shapes and slopes - and lovely to putt on. I gotta say there must be a few stiff uphill walks to the tees on this track - no shortage of downhill holes. Needless to say, I loved it, another Jimbo cracker. Cheers!

There are a coupla Yarra Creeks down here (Victoria & Tassie) but I doubt they'd be anywhere near as picturesque as yours, Jimbo. Gotta agree with Putt, as you really feel you're in marshlands while you're playing. Great to see the Jimbo trademarks, with trees obscuring the view from the tee in many cases & well-judged bends in fairways, so that tee shots have to be planned carefully - not forgetting bunkers which resemble jigsaw pieces on the overhead :) Another marvellous addition to your course alphabet, Jimbo - back to X now for the buried treasure...

Great course Jimbo. Ain't a real course, but it should be. The most complete well rounded course that you have ever done.

I have just checked the course file and I have mistakenly placed a second hazard area on that 5th hole. The area covers some of the first cut in front of the planting at the end of the first fairway section.

Many thanks for leaving a comment. Sorry about your problems PhilT. I tested the game engine to the extreme on this course by planting over 27,500 objects, which is what is causing your slow FPS. It played as smooth as silk on my new PC . . . LOL. Was your shot on the 5th near some planting, if so it will be one of the hazard areas, and I must have incorrectly extended the hazard area beyond the plants.

Great course and nice views yes agree on the pano I had some graphic trouble though I was getting lowish FPS so had to tweak the graphics a bit which is unusual even though my card is oldish. but I set most to medium and it ran great. I also had a slight problem on hole 5 my Tee shot was slightly too long and rolled over into the 1st cut. When I came for the 2nd shot I had to drop a shot! so I felt a bit cheated on that. No problem after that and I enjoyed the whole round and of course its a keeper and yes ice to see Jimbo back in the groove again, an amazing portfolio of courses for this top level designer
