Another very nice tropical course from rlslay, but not as lush and less difficult than some of his other creations. As usual, his panorama is beautiful with the city skyline and the bay visible on many holes, plantings are well done (without being a gardener’s nightmare, LOL !) and, with wide fairways and smooth greens, you should score well on this par 72. After a straight and downhill par-4 1st hole, with a nice panoramic view from the tee box, I like the scenic par-3 2nd, with all those flowers on the left side, near the tee area, and its slightly-elevated green with its panoramic view of the city skyline on the right. The short (about 500 yards) left dogleg par-5 3rd hole has a lone tree in the middle, with bunkers right behind, all the way across the fairway in the corner, leaving you with a very long approach shot to reach the green, unlike the right dogleg par-4 4th where, after a downhill tee shot, you will face another big slope halfway on the way to the downhill green... Then, after the left dogleg par-7th hole, with a big bunker in the middle around the corner, and a small lake, not too far from the green on the right, you will reach the easy, but pretty, par-3 8th, with a wide peninsula green, looking more like an island green, and with a great panoramic view of the city skyline, before facing the long (more than 620 yards) right dogleg par-5 9th hole, with a wide fairway and three bunkers right in front of the green. On the back 9, I like the par-3 11th hole, with its elevated green, the right dogleg par-4 13th, with an uphill tee shot, a wide fairway and an approach shot through a couple of palm trees, with a big bunker around in front of the green (and its downhill panoramic view of the city), and the the very short (about 95 yards) and straight downhill par-3 14th hole. I also like the left dogleg par-5 15th hole, with its uphill tee shot and downhill approach to the green, partially hidden by tall palm trees, and the long (more than 620 yards) and straight downhill par-5 18th, with a two-branch palm tree, right in the middle of the green, and its nice clubhouse on a small hilltop on the right. As BJMac pointed out, this course, while being beautiful, may not be the best and most challenging, ever designed by rlslay, simply because he set such high standards that, with much less plantings than usual, you don't recognize his "trademarks". Nevertheless, it is still a definite keeper and for those, unfamiliar with rlsay's designs, a great way to discover his talent !
P.S. After reading Birdie Eagles' comments, I went back and checked out the 8th hole to find out about that optical illusion. Well, as it turns out, the palm tree in the middle, which stands near the edge of the green is, indeed, on the green if you look at it closely, once you reach it, but it does not interfere with your shot in any way. As for the 18th hole, there is definitely a palm tree in the middle of the green, purposely planted by rlslay, to add a little spice to finish your round...

Great design and another of Rlslay's lovely tropical courses - definitely his forte. This one is typically high quality but I'd hesitate to say it's one of his best - the layout, whilst very enjoyable, varied and creative, was just a little short of some of his other masterpieces. Still a brilliant piece of work though and I agree with an earlier comment, the back 9 was a ripper. Cheers!

Excellent course - with the panorama and background showing big city on one side and the bay on the other on many holes. Nice touch with the extra colourful planting throughout course. Course looks really good and plays great. It`s a keeper! Thank You.

Keywords from earlier comments: beautifully designed, attractive, top shelf, etc. I'm in total agreement with big9324 - might be just me but there's an optical illusion with the view from the 8th tee, as it looks as though a tree & leafy plant (bamboo?) are growing out of the green. Once you're on, you can see they're just in front of the green, but when you reach the 18th, there ARE trees in the green. Can't recall seeing that previously, so well done for a bold innovation, Rob...

I play expert on very dry greens with breezy winds and never have or had a problem of staying on the green on the 15th green, putting, chipping or any other hole....but what do I know, I do not play online, so it could be different. Between this course and the two uploaded courses before it, uploading courses has turned disappointing. I would like to thank everybody who took the time to come back and leave a comment, and yes big9324 you have played those holes as many time as I have..lol

I really liked the course until the 15th green. We play Expert & Very Dry & the ball would not stay on the green with chips or putts.

The views off the tee are exactly what new designers, or anyone else, should strive for. It really opens up a course and adds so much realism. Add in the fantastic plantings and sweet pano and this is a very pretty course. For some reason, even with different elevations, several of the hole designs on the course seemed very familiar to me. Almost like I had been hitting them for years. ;-)

This is a beautifuly designed and attractive course, one we have all become accustomed to with your designs. The pano is by any measure, life like in its intracacy, which has become if you will a signature of all your work. This is top shelf stuf next to the Rembrandts and Renoirs. That may be putting it on a little thick but you should all get the message. Go Play!
