A classic English course and another excellent CGX design. It's a fairly straightforward layout with very few quirks. I found the back 9 the better, particularly with holes like the 14th and 17th, both great par 4's, and the par 5 finishing hole is one of the best on the course. It's not overly difficult but bogeys can easily be found if/when you stray. A very enjoyable track, plays beautifully and masterfully built, cheers!

While nicely done, this course is not the most challenging one you will ever play. A lot of holes are pretty straight and without water hazards, more bunkers and very high rough, birdies come in relatively "easily".
As usual, the CGX team has done a very good designing job but, after being "spoiled" by so many great courses, this one is not on top of my list. The uphill par-3 5th hole looks nice as is the par-3 8th hole. On the back 9, the par-4 17th with a gentle sloped & curved fairways is interesting and the final par-5 hole is worth mentioning too.
Not a spectacular course, but not a bad one either, worth playing to discover part of Scotland...
If you don't want to be too stressed, then this course is for you...

About holes 2 and 5 I just replayed them and did not see any of what is being described

I have to wondering if any of the cgx team plays with the ball cam on. Starting at hole 2 and 5 I notice that the background and plot came apart leaving a ugly view. The background trees were colorless or washed out. I did not like seeing the edge of the course in many places, lifeless and so flat. The course fit the background, except around the edges where the were flat and looked unnatural. The course played aright, the textures did not render well and I always was seeing a pattern not the grass...sorry not so well done
