What an incredible course for a first design ! Not only this course is beautiful, but it is quite tough too : after finishing 18... over par (!), while discovering the course (in novice mode !), I went back and played it again and finished at... 1 under ! Unbelievably, this par 72 course has only... 4 libraries which is hard to imagine when you look at the gorgeous panorama of volcanic and green mountains, the great textures used for the big rocks, the nice plantings and the ocean with... (non moving) breaking waves. The first thing you need to know, however, as you get ready to tee off, is to bring your... sunglasses as this course is quite bright with those mountains, colorful trees and plenty of white bunkers. Every single hole offers quite a challenge and describing each one would take too long, but the first three holes will give you a good idea of what you will be in for : the par-4 1st hole is a sharp left dogleg, with colorful trees and big branches near the tee box, bunkers in the corners and a small pond to the right in front of the green. The par-5 2nd hole is quite scenic, with part of the fairway in the middle near the lake, and a tough approach shot over the water, whereas the par-3 3rd hole requires a blind tee shot over a big bush in front of the tee area, a wide lake and a lone tree hiding the flag on a green, surrounded by bunkers ! Overall, my favorite holes are the gorgeous sharp right dogleg par-5 6th, with the lake on the right (and a small island in the middle), the mountains in front, and the ocean further to the right, the sharp right dogleg par-5 11th hole, where you have to hop from one fairway to another before trying to reach the flag (with an approach shot over the wide lake), and the spectacular panoramic view from the tee box as you look downhill on the par-3 12th hole with the ocean in front ! But this course is unlike any other and describing it is a tough task as it has so many "surprises" : from the very long (more than 715 yards !) downhill par-5 8th hole, with a twisted fairway and a little bit of water in the middle, to the 3 par-3 holes in a row (12th, 13th, 14th), not to mention the very sharp doglegs with trees, often in the way of your second shots, no matter where you look and play, you will have your (sweaty) hands full... For his first attempt, SJM came out with a beauty, and it is not the little uneven line of the ocean in the horizon or the unrealistic look of some holes that will make me change my mind : after all, this is a fantasy course !

Hiya tripel, when you want water reflection on custom courses: On main screen of TW08, go to: Options....Graphics....and set Graphics to: Manual settings Now set shader level: Low ( or medium )

A spectacular looking course, especially for a first work of an unknown designer! I had some problems with the reflextion in the water, but maybe due to my graphic card (somebody else with the same problems, who knows the resolution?). The playability is somewhat limited by all those, often very high, trees. But, after all, SJM, thank you for your good work...

Just goes to show, you don't need to have 20 Libraries to make a great, fun playing course...Great job on your 1st one, enjoyed playing it

Very nice job on your first course. We play expert & very dry & only found one pin on the 14th where we had to chip in. Other than that it was challenging, placement of drive was critical which I like to see. Nice textures & pano. Well done & keep up the good work.

Nice effort for your first course was a lot of fun. Only suggestion i have is the tee boxes were a little uneven and the 14th green was a bit severe on expert very dry but a very enjoyable course, i loved the way you managed to get all the holes into the overhead as a lot of designers seem to struggle to do so.
