Love it or leave it !
As usual, Cello's fantasy courses are not for everyone and this par 72 is no exception. If his wild imagination and designs are widely recognized, you will have to be patient and study every hole very carefully before hitting your shots if you don't want to see double digits piling up on your scorecard...
And another word of caution : if you expect to see lush vegetation, you will be in for a big surprise ! Instead, you will be seeing a few volcanoes and volcanic rocks (both with lava around), scary cliffs, narrow fairways (some set on hilltops with big slopes on both sides), while hopping from one island fairway to another on most holes, with tee shots flying above sand and/or the ocean, and landing onto quite a few narrow (and often hidden) greens, with little rocky “stepping edges” near the flags, making your putts even more tricky...
As a result, up to you if you want to... rise to the occasion and play this Hawaiian Rising course.
I did but, unfortunately, noticed a big bug on the par-5 15th hole (beside the lob wedge as a suggested club to tee off !) as the overall distance displayed is off by almost... 200 yards, which spoiled my round, even though I was able to finish it, this time, which was not the case of some of Cello’s other courses...
