This course is not as scenic as the fantasy course Pecan Lakes, but it has also a very nice (and different) sunlit mountainous panorama, with quite a few water hazards and some nice houses, even though some look quite small, at times, as you reach the greens. After the left dogleg par-4 1st hole, uphill all the way and with an elongated lake below on the right side of the fairway, and the right dogleg par-4 2nd, with a lake on the right and small houses behind the green, the par-3 3rd hole is quite nice too, with an elongated lake on the left, a small pond in front of the green and two bunkers in front and behind the green. I also like the par-4 4th hole, with the lake on the left and an elongated bunker on the right (ending near the green), with another pond on the right and a few more bunkers on both sides, and the scenic par-3 8th hole, with a very wide bunker across In front of the green. As for the par-4 9th hole, straight and slightly uphill, it has a nice panoramic view as you reach the green with a big clubhouse (?) behind and a narrow and long bridge further to the right. On the short (about 480 yards) left dogleg par-5 10th hole, you will hit your tee shot next to that clubhouse (?) on the left, before reaching the slightly-downhill green, surrounded by a few bunkers, and have a chance to putt for an eagle, whereas on the par-3 13th hole, quite scenic, your tee shot will fly over the meandering lake going to the left, with a few villas on the side, near the green, and a big bunker on the right of the wide green. Then, after two more par-4 dogleg holes, with a lake to the left on the 14th hole, and to the right on the 15th, you will reach the nice left dogleg par-4 16th hole, where your tee shot will fly over an enormous bunker, zigzagging across the fairway from the right to the left (and all the way to the green), before finishing with the pretty right dogleg par-4 18th, with an elongated lake on the right and some nice bushes and flowers near the clubhouse as you reach the green (with that small bridge quite long on the right). Pecanwood Country Club plays smoothly but, at times, the water looks a little bit flat and the houses appear small, making thie real par 72 pleasant but not quite as challenging as some more courses designed by willie since...

Hi willie...played Peacanwood...liked the lay out...however to many of the overhead displays were cut off at driving areas...also the color green(fringe)around the greens is abit cartoonish...as well as alot of shots that i'v hit hundreds of times seem to go long or come up short...now these are just my thoughts and observations, for this course...please keep desgining....thank you

Molrub , it`s hard to gauge a course fron Expert V Dry as the Textures used + the elevation used on the greens makes all the difference, example i did a course and found with the Elevations i used on the greens East Lake greens texture was un-playable , i changed it to TPC Boston, and ADS < lmao you can`t play full stop. Willie`s courses are good

This is the second time I've commented about this course, as my original comment was removed, because I said I didn't like it.
Whatever happened to free-speech?

Sorry Willie but this course does not suit Expert very dry. 8th green cannot hold and same with the 9th chip or putt from the right and if you don't hole it comes right back of the green.

Looks like Styar has a echo problem Willie. Pay no attention to his comments. I for one think you make great courses, so you added some LPGA sign promoting China as an event coming up.I for one thought that was cool. Man at your age and still have the passion to make these courses for us my hat goes off to you buddy.

Excellent effort and a Happy Birthday to you Willy.
I am a player not a designer, so a bit bemused by the comments made by that other person. Perhaps,if you are that critical you should send him a private message, because I believe it looked good and played very friendly.
Cheers Brian

Hi Willie---seems like you have come out of retirement yet again and you put together another very attractive and playable course. The greens offer a nice challenge and the course is very pleasing to the eys. Oh and one more thing---my mother always told me, if you can't say something nice than don't say anything--I guess Stylar's mom nevr told him that. Anyway---very ncie course Willie---keep em comin'---MDM3673

I just played this course and personally I thought it was very well thought out and a fun course to play. I believe you are a Designer and I find it very offensive to be so blunt in your thoughts. You guys spend a lot of time designing these courses and you should show a little more respect for fellow desingers. Don't mean to be rude because I appreciate and respect all course designers but your opinion could have been a little bit more appreciative. Your opinion is u r opinion but I totally disagree with you. Take care.

I think your posting Stylar was very rude and not necessary at all. There might have been mistakes that almost all of us would have never have noticed or cared. We played the course for our tourney tonight and found it very enjoyable to play. Nice job Willie !!

Having only played TigerWood 08 for nearly 7 year, I must say this is a very nice course. The math worked well, you made very good use of the fairways and I thought it to be a pleasing course with very nice pano. Not a terribly difficult course, but who likes throwing lawn darts all the time anyway. All in all Willie I like it very much and hope you keep up the good work.

Willie Willie what can i say...The word SMOOTHING comes to mind.Around water ugly spikes etc. Water rises upwards at edges its not flat.Trees on cartpaths.lol the tee markers say LPGA China, last time i checked this course was in South Africa. The bunkers to flat imo.I live 20 miles from this course I play there about once in a month and the bunkers def. not so shallow.IMHO i think Jack Nicklaus will get nightmares if he sees this rendition.Only positive is the greens plays good on expert v/dry.Sorry again no vote of confidence from me...
